Yep you knew this was coming.
How would you run it?

Ben about 100 of you lot, instantly!
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
If you read in others threads apparently its the mods faults this place has apparently slipped. The numbers show growth in traffic over all and wavers in between decent fights, but we are talking control of what goes on here.
Aside from Banning Master what would you do different is my honest question to everyone.
Love to take on any good ideas that are fair.
Face book has many they are all linked to each other by the fans crossing over in one click too,the feeds are instant as soon as you like a page you are on tap from then on.
Their trouble is its one page and all over, too long to scroll on down a page if you are looking for something its gets slower and slower the further down you go. so there is no referencing, no set history, its all very scattered but instant and good info so no real threat to solid forums.
It's not the mods fault, who said that? There is a difference now though. When the majority of non boxing posts on the other boards are started by someone with obsessive compulsive disorder then of course the sheer volume and repetitive nature of them will change the landscape. Add to that the little gang mentality that has four or five cyber bum chums constantly ego stroking each other and absolutely never deviating from their group manifesto mentality and then it all becomes very babyish and bland. @Calling is now a shared compulsion and the very first reaction to another opinion is attack and deride enmasse. So most people stay out of those threads and it's just a big long list of Google and YouTube quotes and clips restating their own prejudices and bolstering their entrenched position. Threads used to ebb and flow and while people may not have changed their opinion at least a neutral reader could look at opinions from both sides. Respect for other posters is simply non existent unless they comply and toe the party line. I am not part of and have no wish to be part of that gang and yet even you, who are a pretty laid back and balanced guy, pretend that I am somehow supposed to just not express any kind of emotion in response and should just accept the new flow. It is partly my fault for not starting enough threads with an alternative viewpoint anymore but I simply do not have the time. It also gets kind of tiring to have to climb a mountain to just start from a level playing field. You mention anything about your personal life and if you are not invite gang you are just branded a liar, a mental health patient or junkie etc. If it was not for the boxing side I would have left like many others. Rarely see half the gang on fight Night threads which always used to be the great leveler but I am glad about that really, that really could be the final straw. Just wish it was not so one sided and repetitive on the other boards but am not surprised that the ones who have repeatedly stuck their middle fingers up to the mods and dissed most of the other posters and the forum have taken over the asylum.
Ok I got , it is like Brexit, well I will call the forum
Saddexit
Learn Mike Tyson style and elements of Peekaboo @ SugarBoxing
I'd copy Saddo, as this forum is still going after a hundred years
((Andre, I don't know whose been saying what, but you need to learn how to tell people to fuck off instead of taking everthing to heart))
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
@Andre no need to change ANYTHING bud. Nothing has "slipped" here at all. Ridiculous accusation for anyone to make. This is a great forum, nothing "slipped" about it at all. Its easy for people to make wild, subjective claims like that, to try to make others feel guilty, GET THEIR WAY ABOUT whatever bug is up their ass.
Don't take it to heart mate, its not on you, we love you, NO ISSUES.
A moderator on an Internet forum is there merely to uphold the rules of engagement of the forum. It's a thankless job, with little reward and lots of criticism, as everyone has an opinion on everything. Humans are wonderful at second-guessing.
The mods here, by and large, do a good job at what they do, and have kept the forum going for a good number of years. Battles rage, and the mods only ask that the strong stuff be kept to the restricted, non-boxing boards. Bans are given, mostly temporary... and I imagine they mostly do the trick. Everyone can use a slap on the hand now and then.
There is a mechanism for complaining privately, and it's available to everyone. I've used it, and have received a response, whether it's what I wanted to hear or not.
It's tough dealing with so many different types of personalities on a forum, just like in real life. Finally, the fact that many of us keep coming back is the ultimate sign that something good we must be getting out of it.
Spoken like the True Champ of Vieques ;-)
I agree. Great assessment.... Bang fucking spot on.
We all keep coming back. And for "those" ( if they even exist!) Who were "driven off in rabid, indignant disgust" , well, er, ummm.... WOW, I'm just...WOW! I could never picture an adult quitting a forum because they "didn't like" certain threads.
If its not broke don't break it. People have opinions and people come and go. Aside from sorting out the occasional turd from the punch bowl and raining on a fire starter or two the last thing we need is to compare 'us' to another forum as we're a special...not short bus special ... kinda breed.
oh and I'd bring back Wacko for RBRs
