Re: who will be training Hatton?
This still hasnt been sorted and it's a very, very delicate situation at the moment so I need to be careful what I say. Although Floyd Snr and Lee Beard did get along very well previously due to the fact Lee's stepson Adrian had been with Floyd Snr in Vegas for a few years. It turned sour in the Manny training camp, which was a complete disaster. The clip on 24/7 where Floyd Snr popped to get breakfast whilst Rick was sat waiting for him alone at the gym highlighted it a little. But it was far worse than that.
Lee Beard is an excellent trainer, unbeaten as a young trainer, and very well respected by many fighters. He trains Tim Coleman who recently beat Mike Arnaoutis, and Coleman rates him very highly. In fact, Lee has now been offered and will work with Joan Guzman after Colemans excellent recommendation.
But its all down to money, and rumour has has it that inside the camp its a little split maybe on who will train Ricky for this fight. Personally I would like to see Lee train him, I've watched Lee and listened to him and he really know's what he his doing, very technical. He is just not a household name. There is another name in the mix, but at this time I cant name him. What I will say though is he isnt a big name either, and I would like to see Lee given full control of Ricky. The problem is though, that they need someone that Ricky will listen to, and as much as I love the guy, he pretty much does what he wants. Ricky respects Lee, but even Freddie Roach would probably have trouble making Ricky listen 100% of the time. Also I'd be suprised if Kerry Kayes is involved, Kerry is a good friend and ex business partner of Billy Graham, and when Ricky left Billy, Kerry pretty much left the Hatton camp
So the answer to the thread is that as of yesterday, there still isnt a trainer that has been confirmed.

Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.
