these are the types of movies I generally eat up and love, but not sure what exactly it was, but i sat through it thinking it will get better. it never did for me. i didn't like it. there were some cool parts, but even Cung Le, oldschool Chen Kuan-tai and Lo Meng (aka Toad) didn't help me like the movie

I think RZA put a little TOO much into the movie, it's clear he loves the oldschool genre, but there were TOO many wacky characters with wacky styles.
    That movie was sh*t!

I was really looking forward to it. Was/ am a big Wu Tang fan so thought Rza's influence would make this good

You mean the comics based on the flick?! Same matter about The Terminator: First the flick - then the comics.

I'm watching Withnail and I awestruck... its amazing its got characters from Saddos in it!

    Withnail is miles
    Marwood is Bilbo
    Danny is Smashup

....breathtaking how true to life it seems.

Here's a clip of 'Withnail & I'....let's see if you don't see it the way I do. I've no clue who the big black dude would be, but Danny is most certainly smashup although I reckonSpicoli could pass for him if he was British, Marwood who is never mentioned by name and refered to in the credits as "...& I" the quasi-narrator of the story is most definitely Bilbo, and Withnail the manic depressive binge drinking full of himself actor is absolutely Gandalf

I found the movie quite amusing once I saw the Saddo connection.

Again....this cannot be a coincidence, it's simply too on the money!

1st Bilbo is called a "ponce" and then starts to feel self conscious and goes to miles for help. Miles feeling manic calls out for "the fucker who called Bilbo a ponce" when confronted with danger he forgets his friend and attempts to save himself.

Surrogates is a 2009 American science fiction action film, based on the 2005–2006 comic book series of the same name.

    edit:

agree on terminator or predator or aliens or buffy or star wars -- those franchises the movies came out first and then the comics followed. but not so with surrogates

Looper wasn't bad, a little slow at times though

Has the hobbit been mentioned? Not too bad, but I'm a kiwi so could be biased

Hell, I saw the hobbit and it was a very good elaboration on the book. I think the challenge for Jackson on this one is the opposite of the challenge on the LOTR series. In those films it was a case of choosing what to leave out. Now its a case of taking the story and elaborating using the other material from Middle Earth such as the Silmarillion to expand on the world. Looking forward to meet Beorn in the next film, although frankly I have no idea how they plan on portraying such a magical and elusive character.

Yeah interested to see how they stretch it over 3 films

I'm sure Jackson has some great ideas for Beorn, I'll be waiting to see his bear form. The scene in Underworld where the black guy changes to a werewolf is something I'd use as reference

I watched Born Into This a documentary about Charles Bukowski. What a troubled dude.... man his life shows what kind of pressure and agony it takes to make diamonds
