Answer my question and then I'll answer yours.
What Question ? You are mostly questions with very few answers.

Firstly my Kids have had and continue to have a way better standard of living than I ever had at their age and have been afforded many more opportunities. I went to the poorest Secondary school in the city and they both had private educations. No I do not think unrestrained globalisation is necessarily a good thing just as multiculturalism often results in a culture free mush where the native culture is buried under good intentions. Yes I think your rote response to killersheep is dumb because you didn't like his apparent happiness to change you felt the need to introduce another element into the argument in order not to concede anything, You seem to have real issues with conceding anything.

Governments have always been puppets but people today are more vocal about being able to see the strings of those behind the scenes. It is a situation you have to make the best of but you seem to be more concerned with the USA than the UK. Do you really care or are you just trying to look for another opportunity to get a graph or bar chart out. You are not at work now mate.
Here's my dumb argument again with the question at the end, helpfully indicated by a question mark so you know what to answer :

I'm talking about being able to provide a roof over the head of your family, feed clothe and educate them to at least the standard you had and then watching them being able to have at least the same standard of living as you did.

The fact that globalisation has increased job insecurity, cut wages in developed countries and is continuing to arbitrage western labour rates down to Asian levels for the forseeable future is actually the number one concern of Americans. It's their number one concern despite a 24/7 media culture of trying to keep them terrified about something, whether it's Saddam's fearsome WMD or suitcase nukes or whatever.

And they're right to be concerned. Presumably you would like your kids to have at least the same opportunities and standard of living as you had. If the economy wasn't getting bigger then there's a concrete reason why this couldn't happen. But the economy is getting bigger, just the benefits of economic and productivity growth are going entirely to less than 1% of the population.

Future generations will have decreased job security, a large percentage will experience long periods of unemployment/reduced hours/low wages and there'll be a much-decreased social safety net for them to rely on to house and feed their families in these times. Are you OK with that or is this a dumb argument?

I hope your kids do much better than you've done in life but this is manifestly not going to be the case for the majority of British or American people or anybody else in wealthy countries if things continue like they are which was the point I was originally making before you butted in. I'm not interested in posting graphs or charts or anything else, I'm just trying to make my arguments as clear and as evidential as possible and charts and graphs often help in these matters so that's why I use them.
It's a public forum and I responded to a post in a thread, that is hardly butting in. Most of my peers killed themselves so I think I have actually done quite well in my life. I don't know how you measure success but personally, for me, financial gain has never really been a great measuring stick for anything. Yes everything is turning to shit, which you keep telling us, without ever providing answers, but people already know this, it isn't news.
I don't know if you were kidding but if you were not I am sorry to hear of your friends. I had a couple who hung it up, terrible feeling, especially tragic for family members.

On topic, everyone of you, as soon as you wake up you should kiss America's ass for what we have done for the world. We go in, rescue countries and only ask for a plot of land to lay our dead to rest.God Bless America.

I'm happy you butted in, I'm not critcising you for butting in. So we both agree that to use a term the kids use today, things are fucked up and bullshit.

There isn't much we can do. At some point things may get so bad that there's some kind of popular insurrection but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I envy you western folks. You got enough to eat but complain like brats. Here people got nothing to eat and their politicians steal from them and still they're not complaining but smiling. And that's not the worst part...
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

I'm here in the Philippines mate...
...almost forgot, about the worst part - the worst part is that our people keeps on re-electing these sonafaguns over and over again...

Now seriously, it's about time americans talk about these issues. The US has been hounded by this 'red scare' for far too long, ever since the time of Sen. McCarthy. They couldn't even get the healthcare law moving, something almost all rich countries have since way back, because many erroneously thought it was socialistic or even communistic. The communist threat has been gone for some time now so it's about time America talk about these things...

Life is hard, it really is. You only have a few options to stay afloat and that is why I live a peculiar life. If you have followed the popular narrative then the odds are you are sinking and it shouldn't be like that. In my own case I realised soon after leaving university that I would have to take a different path. I simply didn't feel that I had any future and I was saddled with debts from an education that was largely useless. At that point I had had enough of the narrative and wanted out. I've never really looked back. It isn't just a story of America, but Europe too. The young Greeks of today do not deserve unemployment rates of 50%. Unchecked financialisation, globalisation, open borders, and elite tax avoidance has led to a massive strain being placed on young people who are now being phased out for robots and drones.

All of this makes me incredibly sad as it didn't need to be like this. Priorities were all wrong and the recent passing of Tony Benn really hammered home to me how few decent politicians there are remaining. It is almost as if they clone Millband and Cameron in the Blair factory.

THEY CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THE HOLLYWOOD DEPICTIONS, THE MAINSTREAM WHITE-WASHES, rather than the 1st hand accounts and the facts.

Amerikkka not only brainwashed its own people but it seems they have done so with the rest of the world as well.
That sounds like me. Lived in the east coast, south, west coast and mid west. Also Korea Germany England and France. Germans don't believe me when I tell them they are better off than Americans. You are right. they watch America T.V. and believe that's how all Americans live. If they only knew the truth. I've been hurt on the job. I had to get a lawyer and fight them to get workers comp. In Germany or Canada that's not even a problem. what's even worse Americans believe there is a two party system when in fact they're both owned by the same people.
@mrbig1 you have nailed it, and nailed it good, sir.
