Does anyone else find the forum site SLUGGISH lately?

I'm not in here as often now as I used to be. And whatever time I can spend here is important, as I love to chat boxing with my fellow "saddo'ers". But lately, for whatever reason, the site seems awful sluggish. I've had to give up on several occasions without being able to post anything. It's gotta be the site, 'cause all the other sites are fast and responsive. Any technical problems y'all know of?

It might sound a bit stupid, but with a lot of people recently getting broadband or using a lot of bandwith after getting new PC's or Xbox Live etc. I think the ISP's are inundated with new traffic. Only a guess but it may be an explanation.

Well, there's a bit of spyware and pop-ups on the site now, which really sux. If you are using a PC rather than a Mac, it becomes a bit more problematic. However, you encounter these types of issues on most sites.
As was stated by a previous poster, it also has allot to do with site-traffic and the bandwidth of your I.S.P.

Doesn't sound stupid at all. There's gotta be a reason, and that's as feasible as any. Also, I sometimes think that when there's a lot of members and guests online, that it might get sluggish... but who really knows. All I know is that the other sites I visit are working OK, so it has to be something with the site itself.

I've had a speed problem, with all sites and particularly downloading and streaming, its been very sluggish since christmas, thats how I came up with my idea, I don't know much about computer stuff, saddo is yer man to ask.

What type of computer do you have? If it's a PC, do you use adware/spyware removal programs? If you do and you run them regularly, you should download hijackthis and post a log report from your clipboard after it examines your drive. I could tell you what to delete and what to keep. However, it may be best to paste the results in a P.M. and send it along to me. It's not a very complicated procedure to get you back to top speed again. You just have to do an abundance of maintenance when it comes to a PC.

I have a fast connection but sometimes wait about two minutes for pages to load up. It's always worth the wait though I need my daily Saddo fix or i get restless thinking I have missed some big news or something.

I think it's just your computer. Delete some of that porn you got saved on it and it'll free up some memory. Bring you back up to decent speed.

seems ok to me... and theres no spyware on this forum what it does do is put a cookie on your computer to make sure you only get a popup every 12 hours

I think it's just your computer. Delete some of that porn you got saved on it and it'll free up some memory. Bring you back up to decent speed.

Seriously, though... I still don't think it's my computer. For instance, right now it's working just fine, and I know being Sunday morning and all, it's probably just a slow time on the site. Oh well, I'll just keep plugging along.

I've noticed the same on occasion....but for the most part it's not that bad....

There is nothing wrong with Saddo site or forum. It was slow the other day but that was temporary.
The problem is on the user side (that being you) and not on the server side.
The problem could be your surfing habits or your computer and or most likely both.

Nothing wrong with Saddo site and if you have not learned to get past saddos pop-ups and annoying ads, then start learning or live with it.
Saddo I did notice a cookie was being set. You did not say killing cookies would affect my log in, so I am going to block cookies from being accapted from Saddo site and forum

Keep your virus checker updated ! a few months ago, I remained logged on here at Saddo's and someone attempted to hack my computer. my virus software stopped the intrusion, however it went to code red and made a crazy warning sound ! ! first time ever this has happened to me. I brought this to Saddo's attention the moment it happened and he jumped on the situation immediately.
