"Floyd Mayweather is a power puncher, he can knock you out with one punch"
Hmm, maybe at the featherweight divisions but not raw power like they make it sound.
I remember the first time I watched this, I'm much more impressed this time, as I've started warming to Floyd a bit recently.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
Floyd is an total prick when he runs his mouth off , however we really should enjoy watching him , because he is just an amazing fighter a true great , we will miss him when he has gone.
Look at all of his fights at 130. I use to get into debates with the fellas at the gym about what was Floyd's best weight. To me it is clearly 130. The man did have power at the weight, he was an offensive fighter with even better precision, his footing was like he was gliding, not to mention he was quicker, threw more combinations and to me the only thing that is better at the higher weight is his shoulder roll. At 135, Castillo was a bit rough so he didn't look as good and at 140 you see some of his stuff slightly lessened but not far off and at 147 its very noticeable. He had to fully develop the shoulder roll, use more hit and not be hit punches, and throw very few combinations. The 130 Floyd is the best fighter I've even seen. All the other weights I can place him in various scenarios as even or a slight underdog.
BIG problems with his hands , wonder if he'd still go for it more now if things were different?
Think the last time I saw him really punish someone was Gatti and he fucked Gatti up royally that night.
That was interesting, he was humble and measured, he should have stayed that way.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I think that it is in the Mayweather genes to be able to hit really hard, just like it is in their genes to really hurt their right hands. Roger could kill you with a right hand (and you could kill him with one, ask Rocky Lockridge and Freddie Pendleton and JC Chavez). Jeff Mayweather hardly ever knocked anybody out because he had a deformed claw for a right hand; once he had surgery to get it fixed he knocked out a few guys in a row.
I think that Floyd could ko more guys than he does and that he hits a lot harder than people might think; if he was ever behind in a fight, he'd probably show it. But he picks his spots and fights smart and will probably live to enjoy all his money and remember the good times he'll be having.
