Default Fights that coulda, shoulda but didn't.

Bit of a twist on @smashup s thread.

    Burley/Robinson @160
    Duran/Arguello @135
    Chandler/Pintor@118
    Sanchez/Arguello @130
    Arbachakov/2 sharp @112
    Pedroza/Sanchez @126
    Toney/Jackson @160
The entire Murders row member’s vs any champ of their day.
    Oscar/Zu @140
    Adamek/Haye@200
    Jones/Benn@168
    Quartey/Trinidad @147

Sadly all of them could have actually been made along with plenty of others.

Bowe v Lewis - was a real shame they didnt fight as pro's.
Tyson v Witherspoon - the only fighter i thought during the HW competition who could have tested Tyson , but he came in fat and got TKO by Bonecrusher.

    Experimental, of course.

PBF v Pac now falls into this category, and may very well be the only one where the #1 and #2 P4P fighters never met. Barring a miraculous return to form by Pac, the moment is over. And even then, PBF isn't exactly a spring chicken.

Would've loved to have seen Tyson v Foreman. Foreman came back during Tyson's peak but was viewed as a joke. However, he proved to be for real...retaining his power coupled with a weird but oddly effective defense. He never hit the canvas.

Of course, he could be rather easily outboxed but how would Tyson pull that off? Styles make fights and Tyson was essentially Frazier. Ergo, a Foreman fight risky. It would've been high-drama to see if Tyson could get to Foreman before Foreman landed one of his heavy punches.

Pernell Whitaker v Meldrick Taylor...you don't often see a defensive genius fight someone faster than he is.

Hatton- Witter just so Junior would STFU. Ricky would have retired him.

Calzaghe-Froch would have no doubt been one of the biggest British fights of all time if they had both rose to the top at the same time.

Personally I still reckon Calazaghe should just get fit and have a crack at Froch, but I know he's been out for a while and Hatton has showed us long inactivity + cocaine = a loss.

    Tremendous matchups, all of them.
Not a big Bowe fan, however... and I would've loved to have seen Lewis sweep the ring canvas with him.

Who? The only one I could think of that would have been a compelling matchup was Michael Moorer, and I think they missed each other's times.

To me, the biggest blown fight ever will ALWAYS be Pac vs PBF. You had two MEGASTARS at the top of their sport, around the same weight, in their absolute PRIMES, and it never happened because of their egos and even if it does happen in the future, it won't even come close to matching the luster that it would have had they did it at the right time.
