Default Deontay Wilder - If I retire today i'm in the Hall of Fame.

I loathe to even acknowledge these clown channels (not Radio Raheem/Seconds Out) but this is your modern "hardore" fan. Poor Britkid is spinning in his grave (not literal one, touch wood).

The hosts and their fans are in no doubt Wilder is a first ballot HOF-er. "Why Mike Tyson so great, he only remember for losses." "Gatti were a bum, he never win a title." "Who Loma beat?" "Nobody ever seen anyone with Wilder power."

24 hours ago in another thread I just said that Wilder was too old and that is the main reason why they will be no fight with Joshua. Now here look at the news. Looks like I called it exactly correct. He is definitely thinking about retiring. Joshua is just waiting for him to get older.

Wilder has been saved by the bell and benefited from a "lucky" decision in two of his last three fights. Even if Joshua "needs" to duck him, he'd still be his best win by miles.

Lovely "saved by the Bell" comparison. Fury clearly won by 3 points. Now a AJ Wilder fight seem not so interesting anymore. Old Deontay vs Sparked AJ, lost all it's luster.

As big as those doorknockers he throws are, they're still not hearing him knocking in Canastota yet.. Maybe if there's a Alabama boxing hall of fame.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Wilder is delusional if he believes he is a HOF. Just because you say it does not make it true. You have to earn it and he has definitely not done that. Sure Wilder keeps winning but he has some way to go. He needs to defend the title, unify it and defend it some more.

He is just talking like usual. If he beats Fury convincingly next time, beats the winner of AJ/Ruiz and then reigns for two more years, I will say he deserves it because he will have proved that he is the best HW.

I do agree though that Gatti being in the HOF is a joke unless he is in there purely for being entertaining

Gatti should be HOF just for the bleeding and heart.

I'd rate Gatti twice beating Patterson honestly higher than any victory Wilder has. Questions come down to who'd ya beat mostly. People won't remember Wilder putting Fury down so much as they'll remember Fury getting back up. Go beat your 50 yr old twice cheat Ortiz without nearly being ko'd this time and it's a step.

I nearly started another thread titled “why are Boxers nowadays such Cunts and talk so much horseshit?”
It’s not just Wilder, although I’m surprised anybody still takes not of what the useless prick says.

Ahh back to boxing, hi power and Tito and master. Wilder didn't look impressive against many people. He has chutzpah to say HOF if retire today. If he fights AJ or Fury or a big few boxers, gets more active, and retires undefEated, he STILL wouldn't of had a chance at HOF.

If Wilder unifies the division, it’s hard not to put him in the HOF for just that alone. I say that not that I think he is good enough to deserve it, but that the HOF has a lot of people who don’t deserve to be in there. I know that people will disagree, but Wlad Klitschko is mainly in the HOF because of a weak division. I think if he were in a good era of HWs, he wouldn’t have been that impressive. He would have won some but lost the big fights. His record and accomplishments put him in though.

If Wilder beats Ortiz, Fury, and AJ/Ruiz convincingly, and unifies the division, it’s hard to keep him out just off the sheer fact that he would be an undefeated unified HW champion. It would be more off accomplishment than how good he actually was. Again, I don’t think that Wlad has any really good wins. I would say that he didn’t beat anyone better than Fury (he actually got beat every round basically by Fury). I’m not even sure who he beat better than AJ.

Gatti most certainly should be in the HOF, it's not specifically about THE best fighters, it's what they brought to boxing, the impact. Gatti was in about a million "fights of the year" and a million fights he took from the brink of stoppage to victory in one unbelievable punch.

His fight with Ruelas alone is enough.

Wilder doesn't deserve to be there yet but there are others there who you could argue shouldn't be.

As much as a fan I am of Barry Mcguigan - another fighter who, like Frank, captured the nation's hearts here - and is a top top bloke I had a bit of a problem when he got in the hall............
