Suliman and Neiman don't belong in the Hall!

Am I the only one who thinks Jose Sulaiman (Mexico) and artist Leroy Neiman (USA)..
do not belong in the Boxing Hall of Fame?

What bothers me is Neiman is a sports artist...not even a boxing artist as it were. This stuff is getting politically correct like everything else. My own feeling has always been that inductees be limited to fighters, trainers, managers, referees, judges and cut men. In other words, only those who are intimately involved with the outcome of a fight. That's my standard and it does not include those on the periphery.

Guys like Souza, Mercante (Senior), Ledderman, Weisfeld, Duva and Manny belong. I'll vote for the first promoter who supports reform including a pension plan for boxers....but not until...and I won't hold my breath. Nor will I vote for anyone who has not smelled the sweat and blood in the gym, tasted the leather of a glove, had to patch up a cut to the bone to save his fighter form a stoppage, or had to sit down with their charge and tell him he "was through." The writers, announcers, artists, and "observers" (whatever in God's name they are) should have their own Hall; they don't belong in Cannastota.

I'm going this year because of the 3 modern boxing inductees...but maybe I need to get more acquainted with the World Boxing Hall of Fame than I already have. I have been a strong supporter of the IBHF both as a writer and financial contributor but an irrelevant presence is beginning to find it's way into the mix and I don' like it.

I disagree, I think Pipino did enough to be in the HoF..... But I will say this....
If Barry McGuigan is in there then that pretty much opens up the door for just about anyone

Old Jose is a freind of Don and have done many a dirty deed together. I beleive the Don now sponsers the event its a case of looking after your own Jose is president of the wbc good game
