Why the hell can they keep playing after 90 minutes if its not tied? Chelsea was ahead 1-0 and after the 90th minute they just kept playing for some random amount of time.

Okay, so during the match referees keep a record of how much time elapsed whilst players were being treated for injuries, or people were lining up free kicks or taking time on goal kicks etc. At the 90 minutes, he'll signal to the 4th official how much time, who will hold up a board with a number on it, and that is the amount of added-on time, or injury time that would be played.Originally Posted by Punisher136

The screen clock always moves, in some other sports over here (rugby) it stops, and the game ends when the ball goes out of play after the last minute... football you have an injury time that is said to be roughly the time injury, substitutions etc eat up.. even tho its not even close..Originally Posted by NotGuilty136
