    Default Wembley Stadium

Has anyone ever been? what was the even and what did you think of it?

I went to the old Wembley Stadium twice in 96 (coca cola cup final Aston Villa v Leeds UTD) and in 2000 ( FA cup final Aston Villa v Chelsea)

I'm going next week when we play Arsenal, I'm just wondering how people think it compares with the old one, does it still have the same magic that the old one had?

I have seen it from afar when my train passes it. You can not miss that arch which looks good.

Good luck on the FA cup hope you have a good time.

@walrus is there anything you can do about Mark TKO as saddo spiritual leader.

I could ban him but think that is excessive and abuse of power.

Right, true story. I went with my youth club and it cost me £1 and that included the train there and back. There was about 10 of us or more plus a couple of youth workers and I remember at the time just going because it cost a pound. I was 14 (I think) and I did feel slightly embarrassed to be there because I had been a MJ fan as a young boy and felt like I had fully grown out of being an MJ fan... I think we all felt the same way but once you get inside that stadium and the anticipation builds then suddenly boom boom pow! he makes his appearance and fuck me it's all louder than you've ever heard in your life well I mean we all just lost our shit right there. Litterally did not stop singing and dancing all night. I remember there were some Arabs jumping around swinging their head scarfs around. Litterally jumping around like they did not cartcare! It was unreal. There was just this different kind of elation in the stadium. Never have I ever been somewhere where so many people were having the time of their lives. I always regarded it as the best day of my life, right up until Liverpool thrashed AC Milan 3-3 in the champions league final.

Then of course I got married and had kids.

My mate crewed for the Michael Jackson Wembley gig and had to reconnect a cable halfway through. It was toward the middle of the stage and he could access it from underneath thru a hinged hatch. As he connected it he realised the feet in front of him were Jackos and he said for a spilt second he was sorely tempted to grab his ankles and make the tabloid scoop the next day :-)

Yeah it wasn't the best of days, had a really good day until kick off.
Luckily though I've kind of fell out of love with football over the last few years so it doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as it used to, I was pissed off for my nephew more than anything, he's only 10 and it was his first time going to a big match but he enjoyed it anyway.
