I think we should rank floyd somewhere in the top 5 p4p because if jmm beats him he should get all the credit and not just beating an unrank floyd jr.

I haven't really looked back at the current p4p rank but was there already a vote on inactive fighters on the list? If we have listed inactive fighters then i think we should rank floyd even though he officially retired, nobody really believe he was.

I immediately thought that i would want to add him in, but then i thought of where i would rank him, and i had no idea.. i think we should wait til he fights to see where he belongs.. But we could discuss that if he DOES beat JMM, does he go back to #1? I think he does regardless of the fashion he wins in........
The problem is PAC has beaten ODLH and Hatton more convincingly than PBF, which the more recent big fights of Mayweather.
Can't go by that KS.. you know better!!..

a win is a win.. styles make fights.. you can't make that comparison as floyd and pac are completely different fighters..

Floyd is set on going 12 rounds when the bell rings.. he is set on scoring points and winning rounds.. pacquiao comes forward and is always balls to the walls..

Rains, Marquez will get the credit as that fight is in July which will go towards the September rankings rather than the present ones which will be released post-votes at the end of June.

There is no way around it really. Personally I like PBF better. BUT at this point what has PBF done that merits ranking him higher than PAC?

If he defeats JMM more comprehensively than Pac did we can bring up this debate. I'm not saying PBF has to get a 2 round KO, but he has to dominate JMM round over round.

What is the metric we're measuring here?

Well, I put my arguments above killer, really it all comes down to personal choice for how one evaluates the list. Some might place record (including flaws on the record) as more important, or the context of HOW someone won, whilst others might place general skill level as more important. That's why if PBF wins I think we will have our most interesting rankings yet because its such a divisive issue

My two cents.I cannot put Mayweather ahead of Pacquiao p4p right now.To me,it all comes down to Pac being a 'fighting' champion, activity and level of comp recently.I just done think, honestly even if he lopsidedly defeats JMM...that Mayweather can just stroll back in after hiatus and re-assume his pedestal at # 1 without taking it from Pac. p4p = subjectivity and headaches

    Great stuff killer,

If Mayweather beats Marquez convincingly then he's back in as #1 in my view! But I won't rate him until after that fight...

Since CFH & Jaz don't want to drop Tarver & Killer, Spicoli & myself want to drop him up to 2 spots; how about a compromise: A one place drop?

With that, here's this weeks update:

    SADDO BOXING OFFICIAL RATINGS UPDATE

    CRUISERWEIGHT

Wayne Braithwaite exits the pool as he has not fought in over a year.

    LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT

Antonio Tarver (forth last time) falls one place to fifth after suffering his second straight points defeat to number two ranked Chad Dawson. Zsolt Erdei moves up from fifth to fill number four.

yea as annoying as he is i don't think Tarver should be dropped completely due to basically how weak 175 is right now, as for PBF, i think he shouldn't be rated until his comeback fight result, if he wins then yea he should be ranked cause if he's able to convincingly beat JMM after a year and a half layoff, then he deserves to get a ranking

As Jaz and I are outvoted, I have no complaints if you want to drop Tarver 2 spaces, though obviously I prefer a 1 place drop.

Actually a win is not a win in boxing all the time cause everybody knows there has been robberies here and there.

Plus common sense should play in when a fighter does better then another. Effort is a big part, result is the whole.

Check the first page of the sticky at the top of the main page on this board. I guess killer hasn't had time to put them up here yet, but they're definitely there

I vote that this week with Munoz coming out of the Jr. Bantam due to inactivity, that Banal moves from the pool to #9 on the strength of his 2nd round ko of Matumla & Kohei Kono moves from the pool into #10 with his decision over Ferreras

I second all of this. I also move that Kevin Johnson enters the Heavyweight pool on the back on his eardrum destruction over Vargas.

Yeah buddy, I think most of us agree here, we discussed it a few posts back...

Also I don't think Adrian Hernandez' 6 round decision is worthy enough to gain entry into the 108 ratings
