    Default 2012 Olympics

Oddly I haven't read much in the forum about the Olympics, which start in a little over a week. Even more odd considering this is mostly a British forum. I suppose everyone's pretty excited over the upcoming event, and probably more than a few will be attending sporting events live. I will definitely be watching as much of the coverage as possible on TV, as I usually do.

I don't like all sporting events equally, but will usually watch whatever is available at the time I'm also available to watch. Puerto Rico has not done very well at in the summer Olympics, but this year we have our hopes set on 400-meter hurdler Javier Culson, who hopefully can bring us our first gold medal at one of these games.

Regardless, I plan to thoroughly enjoy these games... and look forward to more than a few record performances and memorable moments.

I think Bolt will be beaten by his Jamaican colleague.

I love watching the weightlifting. The tiny dudes especially, insane.

If you're not arsed about the Olympics then I hope you didn't watch our joke of a football team in the euros...

Good luck with the 400 hurdles, we have the amazing Dai Green going for gold for the GB team, hard to beat that lad !
Looking forward to see how our new 100m wonder kid goes Adam Gemeli, he used to play footy, was a youngster with Chelsea at one point. He just won the Gold at the World Juniors in a PB record time, certainly not a medal hope but maybe a shout for the final!
We should be strong in the following events, sailing, cycling and swimming, and of course the beautiful Jess Ennis for the Heptathalon !

There were still tickets available for some boxing events as of 2/3 weeks ago. My mate asked me if I wanted to go, I said yeah let me know what dates you are available and we can sort something. Never heard anything!

Might see if some are still available, you never know if you are going to be watching a future legend.

I like some of the track and field events, I have a feeling Ennis might struggle, the media seems to have high expectations of her. Will she cope?

football/tennis/etc. not interested at the best of times. The Euros were wank, there was no buzz about them this year. I'm not much of a footy fan but usually enjoy the atmosphere down the pub when there's a big game on.

Stuff like BMX and Canoeing I can kind of get into but not too bothered. The Olympics are all about individual sports for me. Anything team based I couldn't care less.

Yeah... I saw they went 1-2 at last year's World Championships, with Green winning the event. Should be a barnburner..... very much looking forward to it!

I've been watching the preparation and practice for the events for months where I live. The traffic is gonna be carnage.

As for the sport - I will watch virtually all the athletics. And keep an eye on lots of the other events.

    Are you an athletics fan?

Do you think Blake could beat him in the 100 and 200? (betting oppotunities )

Yep, to be fair it should be a close race between the two of them !

Apparently Bolt wasnt 100% for the Trials, yet now is Blake has the best chance of anyone to take Bolts crown in both events. The only person that can beat Bolt is himself. If he's on top of his game I dont see anyone beating him, but Blake will certainly run him close I have no doubts about that!

I will be watching the diving and hoping that Plymouth's Tom Daley gets a medal to dedicate to his late father. We (Britain) should do well in the boxing and cycling, rowing, swimming, and some track events. The 1500 and 10 000 metres are always great spectacles of pacing and endurance and I shall enjoy watching Jessica Enis, who is 100% babealicious.:-P
