Default The Definitive History of World Championship Boxing volumes 1-4

Has anyone else seen these? they sound good but at £25 a pop I'd rather hear from someone who has actually read them before I take a punt on them.

Boxing fans might be interested to learn that world-renowned boxing historian Barry Hugman, who has spent around 30 years on this project, has finally published an astonishing 4-volume series of books providing the “Definitive History of World Championship Boxing”.

This epic series is the result of more than 30 years of research by world-renowned boxing historian Barry J. Hugman, who has scoured libraries, newspapers and relevant institutions across several countries to pull together the most complete history of world championship boxing. Invaluable
assistance on early British material has been provided by Harold Alderman MBE. From the 1870s to October 2016 all newly discovered and known world championship bouts and title claims have been chronologically listed, together with the result and brief fight summary and, where known, the venues, scorecards and referees are provided too.

It’s a story of amazing fights, questionable decisions, riots, police intervention, scandals, and bravery, featuring countless legends of the ring.

It sounds good but I will wait until it goes to a Library.

Barry HUGMAN lol sounds like an alias Wladimir would use. I wonder if the Hugman's are related to the Klitschkko's?

I remember seeing them advertised a few months back but wasn't really interested. All the info is on the net anyway if you require it. Also I'm not sure if it covers lineage or not but once you start getting into that it can be very subjective. The big one for me is Armstrong's Welterweight run. It should have been interrupted with the Ambers loss and then started again with the Jenkins win.
