    Default Nhs !

It's seem the government has shot itself in the foot if you need surgery well you will have to wait longer.!
Consultants surgeons will not work overtime why because if they worked overtime it went into their pension pot there has been a change into the pension rules also they pay 75% income tax.
Basically you have to make 4 pounds to earn 1pound on average they earn 110 thousand pound a year anything over 75% tax.
These people are extremely clever and I feel deserve there wage remember it's a knock on effect those waiting for surgery will wait months longer.

The government introduced this 2016 and if you earn over £110,000 then in the worst case you are paying to work which is an unintended consequence to this policy. It can easily be rectified. Vote Labour.

Better under Labour than this inept, elitist and out of touch government.

Not really Master. Labour will continue to bring in hundreds of thousands who have never contributed and statistically will take from the economy rather than put in thus placing more burden on the system that is already delaying cancer treatments. Only a new party will get serious on all that. If it was a net positive then it would make sense but it is a net loss.

I have nothing but great things to say about my surgeon. They work incredibly long days checking on your well being at the break of dawn, perform 2, 3 or 4 majors surgeries. Check on you again at the end. Then other days they are consulting and often lecturing and publishing too. It is an amazing workload with an incredible amount of responsibility.

In that sense I absolutely believe in a meritocracy and those that contribute most deserve everything they have. Most people cannot do that kind of work. This is why it is important that the most capable end up in the most important positions.

Politics of course is a funny one where people of very average intelligence end up making very bad policies that affect everyone else usually quite negatively. This issue appears to be a case in point.

What the NHS needs is less micromanagement, less bureaucratic nonsense, less health tourism and more resources given to those who do the most important work. Useless jobs are everywhere and government is a place that creates all too many of them. Very wasteful. Then there are the Royals and how much surgery would 2.5 million spent on refurbishing their home provide?

The NHS where I live is utterly pathetic.

Takes four weeks to get an appointment with a GP (pot luck who you get). In the surgery there's signs on the wall saying they can translate over 100 languages, not surprising when you visit either.

Is it like that in the rest of the country? Waiting times? Congestion? Do Americans and Canadians and the like struggle like Brits?

Yes 4 weekish wait unless they offer you the alternative to phone 8am and they will look for an appointment for you but the phone is often engaged.

I was diagnosed with something serious, looked for a surgeon, found the best, and he operated on me within a week. I was able to interview different surgeons at different hospitals prior. I think the quality of care here is exceptional. He had a full schedule, but decided my 3 hour surgery was 'easy' and was willing to do it two days later. He has a great reputation and I knew he was right for me. Touch wood, healthy ever since. I delayed as I wanted to give work a weeks notice first. National insurance would not cover the surgery I wanted and thus my private insurance made up the difference. Private insurance is only a quarter of what my monthly national contributions are between me and my employer. No reason not to have it. It's the price of a meal out once a month.

Out here at smaller hospitals you can typically get scans done the same day. Bigger hospitals take longer, but if it is for something serious they get you in more quickly. At a smaller hospital I was able to do a same day tube down the throat and a brain scan another time an hour after seeing the doctor. Very fast. It's insurance based but you do pay extra for treatment. Thus the stomach check will cost you 50 quid discounted using national insurance. You then reclaim it privately.

Translation? You don't need it. I always refuse, but the doctors end up speaking amazing English anyway. My surgeon publishes in English snd speaks perfect English. Most are biligual. Smaller hospitals less so but that's where I get to practice myself. At the top they are full of all that terminology they got from medical school. Very smart people. Likewise, the nurses are amazing too.

Last time I seen a consultant I paid £220 then it got the ball rolling it was that or wait 6 months.
Guess what same consultant on NHS remember it may not be fair but I was fucked it took 18 months to get better.
We need to invest more in the NHS more doctors nurses health care far too many mangers who produce nothing .

Why are we short of nurses simple answer at one time when training to be a nurse they were paid as they trained.
Three years training and no pay hardly surprising not many takers.
Hopefully they start to pay nurses as they train again in England it's in the pipeline hopefully Wales bring it back also.
