Rubio looked surprised he was counted out.

Memo to Rubio: If you wait until 9 1/2 to start getting up, chances are you won't make it.

To be fair, he waited until about 8-81/2.

Still, he didn't really want anymore.

    GGG is the man!

Chavez who was essentially a cruiserweight couldn't even hardly hurt Rubio. Obviously Chavez will want no part of ggg.

Walters V Donaire what a good fight, I rarely stay up to watch a fight live but I did for this one,!
and I was not disappointed, for me I like both fighters and a pity some one has to lose.
But Walters was a bit to big and strong, Donaire was dangerous with that big left hook, but once
Walters was landing that left jab, he started to control his opponent and that was the beginning of
the end Donaire was dropped by a nice right upper cut, when the end came he went down face first. The King is dead long live the King.

That was a surprisingly effective punch, I can't remember seeing that punch with that result before.
That shot will be on HBO promos soon!

    He's wrong.
Pretty sure he realizes that now. I give him credit for taking the chance.

On a side note, it doesn't look like Donaires wife loves him very much
I liked her calm, cool and collected demeanor. A wife who understands the realities of boxing and can deal with them.

Was going to write down my opinions last night, but couldn't be bothered to switch on the pc in the end!

If round two had an extra ten seconds, I'm sure that Donaire would have got a knockdown, as Walters went reeling back to his corner, and when he got there realized he'd gone to the wrong corner. Nonetheless, a bit of vulnerability will only add to his marketability in terms of exciting fights against other powerful guys, and he definitely packs a big punch which we saw last night.

As for GGG, he did exactly what I expected him to do. The extra weight of Rubio really had no bearing, it was just the case that Golovkin was very powerful, and caught him too hard. He had a wide eyed stare when he was on the floor, so even if he did get up I reckon the ref wouldn't have allowed him to continue.

Glad I stayed up for this for a change, not disappointed one bit. That last shot from GGG was almost like an inverted uppercut. I can't inside the shock/ trauma that causes to the neck.

3g makes for exciting fights, cant wait to see him face some one who can punch with him, cause his defense is porous.

Doing rewatch and noticing how similar both finishes were. Two power shots off top head area, just pure concussive downward leather. Have you ever watched video of underground explosions, first thing I thought of

Rubio disappointed me before getting in the ring, but at least tried to bring it once he stepped through the ropes. GGG seemed intent on putting on a show and I genuinely think he thought it would last longer. That was a wrecking ball of a punch. You can't train to avoid shots like that, Golovkin is fast becoming a living legend. He clearly is being given a wider birth than a bucketful of Ebola and will have to move sideways come next year just to find opponents.

The flash has cashed and while you have to give the guy cred for mixing it with a hungry young banger, I think his glory days are gone. Exciting prospect in Walters though, I like the guy and he showed some real class with his words for Donaire.
