There's talk of Maidana returning this year. Probably with PBC, saying he wants to get back to 147.

I would be amazed he can get back to 147lb after all this time and he was one fighter I was sure would never come back. He made a lot of money at the end against Floyd which I thought he would retire on and become a farmer.

Yea welter is pretty ambitious. I always thought he walked away to soon. Especially after his 2nd performance against Floyd. But all that money can make it hard to stay motivated to train I guess. It really depends what weight he can get down to, he may still be affective at 154, 160 I see him struggling.

Maidana really puffed up like an engorged tick. But after Fury practically shed a bantamweight it's possible. Much different style from El Chino. Boxing could use more guys like Maidana when he's at his best and owes him a debt of gratitude for making beating up Broner a popular trend . Just hope he doesn't get rushed back as a scalp for a big promotion.

I don't know. Fury imploded and had to crawl back into boxing relevance..... but Maidana just out and said he had lost desire.... that he didn't want to do this anymore. Big difference. I don't know you can come back to the heights you were before, if you just out and quit because you didn't "want it anymore." Best of luck to him... and he'll always have my gratitude for embarrassing the Embarrassment to Boxing, Adrien Boner.

Maidana was never a great boxer or anything special and won the lottery by beating Broner to get 2 fights against Floyd. His comeback will not end well.

The funny thing is that I bet that nobody would have guessed Maidana as a fighter who would come out of retirement in 2019

So if Maidana can do it, my crazy guess will be Rafael Marquez.

Yeah, I saw that. Well good for him. Instead of faking it, he's had a change of heart. He was only going to get hurt if he went into this comeback half-ass.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dug up Jerry Quarry to fight Joshua.
