A lot of the luster went away when Pac was planked.
Unnecessary but I'd still like to see it. It would be interesting to see how their styles would mesh.
I'm just speaking for myself and yes I would like to see Manny vs Floyd. Truthfully it depends on how he does against Rios.
If Manny could string together a few "comeback" victories I wouldn't mind seeing it just based on the fact that Manny's handspeed and power is dangerous for Floyd.
But in terms of it being a relevant superfight? No way. What would have been, to me, possibly the greatest showdown in the history of the sport was put in a coffin with the Bradley loss, and nailed up and buried after Pac got KTFO.
2010, both guys were at their absolute peak in terms of popularity, reverence and ability.
2013, Manny has been KTFO by a guy Floyd dominated, and Floyd, even though he hasn't lost yet, has visibly slowed down over the past few years.
I certainly wouldn't complain
I think most of us boxing fans are just a little wounded by their inability to strike a deal
Although tbh, the fight would probably look a bit like Leonard/Duran III.

Original & Best: The Sugar Man
if manny beats rios and looks good doing it then yes i think after floyd woops canelo the next biggest fight is still floyd vs manny but because of arum the fight will NEVER happen.
I'm thinking the fight can happen at this point should both Floyd and Manny keep winning.
Pacman would have to beat . . .
1. Rios
2. Paulie should he beat Broner or winner of M&M vs Lopez
3. Winner of JMM vs Bradley
And Floyd would have to beat
1. Canelo
2. Winner of Alexander vs Khan
3. Winner of Garcia vs Mattysee
No!
This is one of those fights that everybody hears about and watches, even non boxing fans, it would have a been Frazier vs Ali or a Leonard vs Hearns.
However, now it would just be a boxing match.
Incredibly selfish to the fans, by both fighters, it will go down as one of the most wasted opportunities in boxing history.
I see Floyd as probably the best of all time, so, literally the most wasted of all time.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
Yes, regardless of what has happened to Manny I'd still like to see this happen. Historically I think it needs to happen. They dont both need to be at their best, all thats required is that they've both slipped by around about the same amount. It'd still be a huge event.
I dont know if it was because one of them had slipped so far that it became an exhibition (for 11 rounds anyway) but I enjoyed every second of Calzaghe V Jones Jnr.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

My answer is yes, BUT my question is, can this fight still be made or will Uncle Bob jus f**k it up?
Surprisingly yes. After Alvarez there really are not alot of big name options left that could do real ppv numbers. According to Forbes the Guerrero fight was a 12 million dollar bust. And I just can't see them putting on more losing shows like that especially with 5 more to go. But Pac vs Floyd won't happen as long as Arum is at the helm.
After all of the pissing contests between them late on I wasn't losing sleep over it not happening in the first place. But fact is they are still huge players and it technically can be made. Manny has to really do something massive first. Beating up a half retarded catchers mitt in Brandon Rios is a good step. But there will always be an asterisk next to it as not happening at 'best' etc.
No. It's simply no longer relevant. Should Canelo beat Floyd then maybe a new chapter may be written however I kind of think Rios beats Manny only because Manny could be out of candle. Its amazing to me how long he has been able to carry on with his kind of style. Not sure he has that fire anymore. I'm still puzzled as to why he never rematched Bradley.
Here is an interesting tidbit.
Promoter: Manny Pacquiao may never again fight in U.S. - latimes.com
Dam 40%. Yet he can go to a Communist county and hardly pay any. Factor in Arums pimp charges and Roaches million dollar per fight salary, the rest of his corner and the 100 or so clingons and I'm surprised he's got cab fare.
