Default Is Calzaghe's style the way to beat PBF?

This is of course hypothetical because this fight could never happen!

But lets just say Calzaghe was fighting at Light-Middle weight i dont think PBF would be to keen to jump up to fight him like he did with Oscar.. Calzaghe's none stop work rate, and huge stamina and solid chin would simple overwhelm PBF, punches would be comming from all angles..

Im just trying to say is this the type of figher would could de-code PBF's syle and defence? Calzaghe does have a very individual style though.

I see your point with the high punch output and the decent movement I can see Joe's style causing some probs.

i see it a bit like the oscar fight but with PBF takin more shots and it would be for 12 rounds constant.

Well Paul Williams is as tall as Joe and throws as many punches per round as Joe so if he ever gets to Floyd we may find out.

I think Calzaghe's style is the way to give floyd a loss.

Toss an 82" inch reach on that in the welterweight division and there is a guy who I feel would win a UD against Floyd. But Mayweather knows not to fight him.

He will take Cotto instead, who will give a great fight but fall victim to PBF's skills, speed, and defense.

If PBF had his skills and was 168 pounds would he be the man to beat Joe C? Workrate is all well and good but no good if u dont land. No good throwing 1000 punches if 10% land.

some how i cant belive that someone of Calzaghe's skill wouldnt be able to land.. He throws punches from such awkward angles... i could see PBF going into a defensive shell...

Somehow i think u are overrating Calzaghes skill somewhat. You are pretty much saying Calzaghe is more skilled than Floyd, or anyone Floyd has faced which is wrong. If Floyd and Joe were the same size PBF would win, that is why he is p4p number1 and Joe is maybe number 4 or 5.

i do see what your trying to say about styles. However, as much as i like JC he really really hasnt fought anyone with PBF's concrete defense and style at all. Or someone with his level of athleticism and accuracy even IMO....which would cause joe just as many problems if not more P4P as joe would cause PBF.

I don't see his style comming close there are so many times that Calzaghe is left wide open swinging punches he shouldn't be that a tight defensive fighter like Mayweather would pick him apart. You saw when Kessler was countering him hard that Calzaghe wasn't able to do what he wanted to in parts, but Mayweahter is way better than kessler is almost every aspect, and Kessler though he lost the fight made a lot of those rounds close and more than anything was outpunched by Calzaghe. However Mayweather has way better movement which I think gives Calzaghe's style a lot of problems as we might see if Calzaghe should face Hopkins.

i don't think so, calzaghe has never faced a guy that has the defense, movement and accurate couterpunching skills mayweather has. although he would give mayweather problems every now and then with his slaps and angles mayweather would beat him by UD

No Can't see Joe slapping him to death been a way to beat Floyd.
