    That does not sound true.

Smith turned down a Canelo fight.

There is something seriously wrong with everybody turning down a Canelo fight. He brings in money, yet Canelo has the hardest time getting a fight. Kovalev turned him down originally too but finally buckled. There is no explanation other than Canelo gets too many advantages. People are always lining up to fight the cash cows. You literally saw the exact opposite with Mayweather and Pacquiao. Nobody would ever turn down a fight with them and people were calling them out left and right.

And the difference too is that Canelo is much more bearable than the other two guys. Mayweather and Pacquiao proved to be some of the best that have ever boxed. No doubt that beating Canelo would raise the stock of a fighter tremendously because of his popularity. Therefore, there is no other explanation for everybody turning his offers down other than the fact that his offers are completely unfair.

there could be other explanations, fighters could be overestimating their worth is one

Nobody can really say for sure, except for those behind the scenes. But knowing what I do about DLH and Canelo I'd say the "completely unfair offer" explanation is more plausible to me.

everyone wants that money jacobs earned, so i can also see some unrealistic expectations, "completely unfair offer" would also be subjective. callum is even lucky to be in the conversation, he should be picking up his balls & giving his daddy ryder the rematch he deserves. callum is just holding ryders belts for him. canelo should offer ryder the fight instead

"I don't know which one Canelo prefers. But I do know both Callum and Billy Joe want the fight. The one who gets the fight? Probably the one who takes it for the least money. Canelo has to fight a credible guy. Callum and Billy Joe are world champions. They aren't just being picked off a list. It is a lot of money but it is less than what you have paid everybody else. We feel the same about Anthony Joshua's opponents. The market has changed, and guys are demanding."

    sounds like money

Truth is, as "Franchise Champion" Canelo can do whatever he wants and fights whomever he wants whenever he wants. No demands... no conditions. So basically he's free to make ridiculous offers to those he'd rather not fight, and more palatable offers to the others.

Hearn has confirmed that they turned the Alvarez fight down. Which pretty much says it all. When a fighter turns down a fight in which he will make 4 times more than he has ever made, than he doesn't really want the fight.

Can't really blame Callum. Probably re-watch Alvarez whipping Liam's ass and thought better of it

As far as Saunders is concerned, if he wants it, he should take whatever he’s offered. He hasn’t earns the right to demand silly money.
Smith is a diffferent thing altogether. Everybody making a big thing about the Ryder fight, which was a very bad day at the office. But apart from that , he’s a very credible opponent, but let’s be honest GBP Will stack it so he has no chance. No way would he get a decision over there, and Canelo won’t get KO’d, no way will Canelo come here and why should he.
I think that’s what Smith means by getting paid to take an L.
Former Undisputed 4 belt Prediction champion. Still P4P and People’s Champion.

To the "whatever", "whomever", and "whenever", I didn't add "wherever" because it's engraved in stone that Canelo will never leave the friendly confines of Vegas/Texas/Southern Cal.

Again, does anybody remember any fighter that turned down a payday against Mayweather or Pacquiao? I don’t. So why does it seem that people are constantly turning down Canelo?

There is one fighter who has been calling out Canelo which is Andrade. Both are DAZN. Canelo won’t go down to middleweight to fight him though. There is just no reason for Saunders or Smith to turn down a Canelo fight unless the negotiations were extremely unfair. And shouldn’t we applaud them for that? Kind of like the GGG drama. He basically put his career on hold for Canelo instead fighting the best because of the money. We complained about that, so we should be happy about people turning him down.
