I thought the first round was pretty close but Rodriguez did a bit better. The big question is whether or not Rodriguez can keep his energy level up. His last fight he faded late.

Both fighters throwing hard fast bombs at each other but Rodriguez landed the more effective punches to win the first round.

    Quality fight

Inoue is vicious and stops Rodriguez in the 2nd round. Rodriguez face is battered and he finished the fight with body shots.

If I was Donaire I would give him the title, cup and everything else.

Donaire has basically gotten a bye to the finals. His first opponent gets hurt during their fight and has to quit, then his second fight his opponent gets injured at the last minute and Donaire gets to fight a short term replacement. Now he gets to fight Inuoe and gets the opportunity to get beat up badly.

Two unfortunate things here. First, Donaire in his prime vs Inuoe would be a great fight. Too bad Donaire is way past his best. Second, I was looking forward to a good finals but the best fighters on that side of the bracket got injured so it ruined what could have been a good final.

    This was effectively the final.

It was close and does not matter now but think Rodriguez landed the better quality punches.

Josh is a lot taller and using his speed and height to win the first round.

Taylor won the first round pretty clearly. Baranchyk is a buzzsaw though so we will see if he can wear down Taylor. If not, Taylor should easily win this.
