Default Andry Tsurkan v. Alfredo Angulo

This weekend, Andry Tsurkan (26- 3, 17KO) battles Alfredo Angulo (13-0, 10KO) on HBO's Boxing After Dark series. Tsurkan stands 5'8 and has a 71" reach. Tsurkan is coming off a win against Jesse Feliciano. His most recent loss came by split decision to Yuri Foreman.

Angulo is a highly touted prospect who stands 5'10 and has a 69" reach. In his last fight, he thoroughly beat Richard Gutierrez, a tough opponent. Angulo has never lost.

In my first time seeing him fight, Angulo looked like a slow prodding fighter with a lot of punching power. Tsurkan, on the other hand, has reasonably quick hands and reasonable power.

Who do people like in this fight? I think it is a great test for Angulo. I think that he will prove a lot should he beat a faster, more technically sound fighter in Tsurkan.

Tsurkan might be a bit more sound and faster but he's right there, he's not a real elusive guy. Angulo's people are managing him well in that there not putting him in with anybody that could stink it out and/or just flat out outbox him. Guttierez, Tsurkan, they both come to fight and those are the type of guys Angulo's gonna look best against unless of course he gets KO'd, outworked, whatever.

I assume Angulo will win but it should be a pretty good fight.

I voted "El Perro" by KO...

Just thought I'd mention I'll be sitting ringside for the fights this Sat. on HBO...

    Look out for CutMeMick....

Should be a thriller of a night...
    Martinez-Bunema
    Angulo-Tsurkan
    Gamboa-Ramirez

and I also get to see the hard hitting Argentine Luis Carlos Abregu who along with Marcos Rene Maidana are 2 Argentine prospects who hit like a ton of bricks...

I'm mad jealous you are sitting ringside. Ridiculous line-up and I bet you got a deal on the tickets. I was there for the Jeff Lacy fight in July.

Cool Mick, any idea what you are going to be wearing (other than shades of course) so that we might readily spot you?

Great, great card.Angulo is coming up fast and is on the brink of a breakout.Tsurkan will be a toughie but Angulo should take this one.And then we can have Angulo/Kirkland ? and sit back and watch the carnage

    Not sure yet Bilbo...

I'm thinking my black and white Rock N Replubic shirt with my Diesel shades...
Possibly my yellow "Italian Stallion" (rocky) shirt with my Kenneth Cole shades...

I'm going with Angulo by KO.

El Perro hasn't let me down yet, and I don't see him letting me down with this fight.

I think we are all waiting eagerly though, for the showdown between El Perro and Mandingo Warrior!!
