Ponomarev is definitely better than the pathetic, feather-fisted Algieri.

He almost stopped Solomon in the last round. He won't be an easy opponent, the kid has some very good skills and lots of heart.

That being said, I expect Spence to win, especially since Haymon's referee and judges will be on his side.

Missed the Soloman fight but last watched him vs Zewski. Very solid jab and can put punches together. Unfortunately he does catch some silly punches and he'll be in front of Spence. All things being equal its another 'step up' for Spence but will probably be more competitive on paper than it proves to be in the ring.

Ponomarev cant bang either so cant see him earning Spences respect. Hes a solid boxer but not at elite level where we expect Spence to be. Id say Spence stops him in the mid rounds.
