If Rahman doesn't KO Ray then he doesn't belong in pro boxing.

I hope Joe Mesi does well, he was doing very good until his injury

I heard about this one. It is going to be at the Hazabeen Casino and retirement center. You get your choice of a free jello cup or fruit cocktail with every ticket

Shockingly...Undefeated heavyweight Joe Mesi and former world heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman are set to headline in separate bouts on the same card at the Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort in West Virginia on February 22, 2007 in a Top Rank promoted co-feature.

Apparently, if they both win their respective matches then the two "champs" will most likely square off against each other later in 2007.

Personally...this totally disgusts me. How about you?
    Yup...disgusted.

Yeah this ain't no super fight thats for sure. After Mercer's last little outing, where he took a pretty obvious dive against Briggs, he doesn't deserve any PPV dollars, or dollars period. And Rahman, God bless him, he's a nice guy, and a good fighter half the time, but a crap fighter the other half. Really he oughta retire after this fight win or lose, he ain't marketable no more, ya can't count on him, he's not exciting... Somehow, though if Rahman comes in outta shape or weird like he has b4, Mercer could actually win by KO. It'd be like Holmes vs Mercer reversed, with Mercer beating a contender in his old age.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

That was my 1st reaction too . Whats super about the worst heavyweight champion of all time againt a washed up middleaged hasbeen ?

Its an interesting fight but I wouldnt describe it as a superfight . More like a good old journeyman tear up .

Mercer is old but hell anyone over 200 pounds has a shot at this division. When they find a cure for parkinson's get ready for ali to become the world's second 4 time champion. Frazier just boxed for charity not that long ago. Hey maybe ali-frazier 4 is gonna happen after all. They never recovered marciano's body. He's probably training for a comeback on an island somewhere.

I'm not sure how dangerous bleeding on the brain is. I'm not a brain doctor so i dunno if it means that the brain is damaged and is at a high risk to shut down in the area where it happened or if its like any other internal bleeding and once the bleeding has stopped and all the blood vessels and stuff are back to normal you're good to go. If doctors over exaggerate how bad it is than mesi should fight.

No way is this a superfight.

Ray is old and has lost it,Hasim is oldish and never really had it.

The fact that Mesi is fighting is a descrace to all involved,do these people want to see the man die in the ring or have a serious head injury.

Its not hard to see how boxing is in the mess it is in right now with fights like this.

Who cares about people dying or getting serious brain injuries when there's money to be made? It is a disgrace, but I assume it is down to Mesi in the end, if he values money beyond his own life, then it is his call. Just wish he would care more for his family and those who don't want to see him face down on the canvas.

As for Hasim Rahman v Ray Mercer. The word super should not be used at all in the description of this fight...they're both too old and too washed up to be contending for any serious titles....btw who's the WBU and IBO champs these days?
