    Unhappy Floyd vs Gatti

I didn't watch this fight closely when they showed it live on HBO, because Gatti was my boy and I hated seeing him get annihilated. Upon re-watching fight today, there's no doubt left in my mind that Mayweather is one of the best ever, and a fucking jaggernaut on offense when he wants to be.

I still liked Gatti better then I do Floyd, just giving credit where credit is due. (shame on you Pretty Boy)

Gatti was way way shot; even at his best he'd have been target practice for mayweather.

Jones Jr. v Pazienza part II

Hated Mayweathers approach and bs leading up to this one. Not bad though for target practice on "A C level fighter".

Agreed, I remember the commentator at the time saying the Gatti of old would have stood a better chance, but he would still have been well beaten

oh come on. Gatti was never in Floyd's skill level, how can you call this his greatest fight?
thats like saying Ray Leonard's greatest fight was against some tin can. Gatti was already shot in 2005 give me a break. Yes Floyd performed great, but come on.

Floyd was a class above and he knew it all a long there have been better showings of aggression from Floyd. Even his last fight with Cotto at 154lb, the last round he went for the stoppage.

I don't think Gatti was shot. People forget he was riding a huge wave of popularity and was looked at as having evolved and rejuvinated his career under Buddy Mcgirt, and he was also a WBC 140 world champ (I know it was vacated by Kosta Tyszu, but still was a championship belt). Floyd was looked at as the smaller man coming up, and a lot of people were excited about this fight and thought Gatti's power and rough and tumble style would give Floyd problems.

Unfortunately for Gatti and fans, it was one of the most onesided PPV megafights of all time.

Gatti may have been a little shot, but Floyd looked the best i'd ever seen on offense, a brutal display of what he can do when he wants to. BTW, before you start calling a Floyd nuthugger, i've been a Floyd hater forever.
