Default Floyd Mayweather v Miguel Cotto 2

Who would win if this fight was at middleweight May 2015?

Floyd could claim to say he captured the lineal middleweight title and become regarded as a great or Cotto could claim revenge should he win.

Floyd is already regarded "as a great".

You think Cotto would have the advantage at the higher weight to stop Floyd?

Floyd dominates him again. Cotto isn't a middleweight, and not the best guy in the division he caught Sergio at the right time. First true 160 pound guy he fights, the level of Quillin and up, he loses to. I would bet money on Geale beating him. Floyd would be smart to fight him as it is a guaranteed win and Cotto has a ton of hype on him right now.

Cotto is a money machine and will be in a big fight next up...........But whoever he fights next he loses.
Canelo- big money fight and it's not cut and dried, but I reckon Canelo will be too much for him.
Floyd- he beat him before and he'd beat him again. Cotto isn't a real MW and isn't big enough to make the size count.
GGG- Golovkin wants this because he wants to unify the division. GGG would retire Cotto, but I can't see it happening.
I like Cotto, I reckon he's a top bloke, but I think too much was read into the Martinez win. With hindsight , it's almost unbelievable that Martinez got in the ring with the injuries he's had. He was a great champion in his time, but unfortunately he is well and truly finished.

Floyd is ripe for the picking. If Cotto gets in amazing shape and pressures Floyd from the outset and fights without fear I believe he can win. Maybe KO6 is ambitious--KO9-11.

I do not think Floyd has deterioated that much to be stopped. Floyd handled Cotto with aggressive tactics at light middle. I think he can win points decision.

His fight with Cotto will have been 3 years ago by the time Floyd fights again in May. I agree Floyd fought aggression with aggression but I don't think he has the physical ability to endure 12 rounds of effective aggression anymore. I don't think he has the legs to avoid it and if Cotto fights smart but without fear I don't think Floyd had the speed/power to keep him off. Floyd isn't a write off but I think Cotto has continued to refine his style, adapt and learn where I see Floyd kind of just hanging on, coasting and surviving.

Agree with @ruthless rocco. I think Floyd is starting to slip and slip hard like Armstrong did. Makes one appreciate the longevity of guys like Moore and Hopkins.

Never really considered Floyd/Cotto 2 @Master. Thats actually a possibility should he beat Alvarez and maybe at 154 if he loses.

Even if it were to happen, this fight won't happen before Cotto faces Canelo. I don't think it makes a difference what weight class they are in. Same result.

I don't know if Floyds ego could tolerate two rematches that close together.

Just think of the money canelo vs cotto will generate.

Cotto will not risk a fight against GGG as the money is all with canelo on HBO.

Canelo lost to floyd (and lara).
why doesnt he fight GGG instead of picking on the little guys?
