Fight with No big names - Not promoted well, but delivered the goods.
I Dug out an old VHS tape that had Versus boxing: Adamak vs Cunningham.
Just a great fight, good ebb n flow action. Toe to toe, Cunningham the champ dropped 3 times, then boxes his way back, slugs his way back, wins the 12th, but lost the fight.
Tarver vs Johnson I II
If it weren't for Roy Jones, both these guys would be somewhat obscure name to sports world in general.
Tarver at best would be known as Mason Dixon, but who would've known Mason Dixon was the man that knocked out RJJ?
What a shame we talk about Gatti-Ward as a great fight, because HBO promoted it as such.
Johnson vs Tarver I II were great fights from beginning to end.
Yohnny Perez vs Joseph Agbeko I ( didnt see the rematch, but the first one was high-octane) both guys wanted it. Casual fans will never know their names- even the ones who know Donaire- the man to knock out Dchin...yet D-chin also lost to Agbeko which set up this match.
Totally under the radar fight that delivered in skill and excitement.
