the guy who won Oscar's crappy "Next great champ" reality show? Anyone even know who he is? That show came out before the first contender and it was CRAP. I think Oscar said they filmed it all in around 4 weeks. So does anyone know who won the thing, or any if any decent boxers were involved in it at all?

Otis Griffin I think was his name? He fights on the cards at the Arco Arena here that always is stacked with the Castenedas and always has Vincente Escobedo. Actually, I think there is a card there either tonight or tomorrow so I would check boxrec.

Haha wow he is fighting tonight. Thats wierd. Also wierd how "The Next Great Champ" never fought a professional fight before the show started.

If I recall correctly, wasn't SLR mad at DLH for putting his name on this sham? I mean say what you want about The Contender, The Next Great Champ didn't even last on Fox's Thursday night tv schedule.

CC for the info. Arco arena is actually about 2 hours away from where I live, so I could go see him fight some time. Not that I ever would though.

Yeah it's about an hour from me, I live in Clearlake now so I'm real close. I hear the place is pretty shotty anyways. You ever go to fight cards in the Bay Area?

Believe it or not I've never been to a live fight card. But back in 01 I went to see WWF there at Arco Arena.

You should check out the Fight Night at the Tank cards at the Pavillion. I've covered a couple now and they're great. And I saw Hogan at the Arco Arena back when Angle was still wearing that wig after he just got shaved. Best day of my life haha
