Amateur boxing is shit. Not sure why people get so hard over gold medals, it's a great achievement as an amateur but means fuck all in the professional game (see Audley Harrison)

From what ive been told and understand. Ammy is more punch driven. The numbers really really and work rate matter. It plays a huge factor over other criteria in fact it feels like the only criteria at times. Ammy puts more emphasis on agression where as pro put more emphasis on the aggression being effective. With all this in mind it goes without saying that ammys work more and faster while pros are more settled down and work slower with less punches thrown.
Another differece that changes everything is ammy weigh in and fight the same day. Pros fight the next day.
