    Default RIP Jim Kelly (May 5, 1946 - June 29, 2013)

The martial arts world as well as the movies world lost a martial artist/actor/cultural icon. Jim Kelly who played "Williams" in the cult classic "Enter the Dragon" passed away yesterday at the age of 67.

My sincerest condolences to his loved ones, friends, associates, and students.

    He will be missed.

    RIP Jim Kelly

I don't want to seem flippant but there is something to be said for fighting men sporting afros. Haye should reinstate his, he looked truly superfly with it.

    No worries GreenBeanz

RIP -- truly sad times for martial artists and fight films fans, Lau Kar Leung (director of 36th Chamber of Shaolin aka Master Killer) and now Jim Kelly.

I've honestly never seen him in any movie other than Enter the Dragon. But it was so iconic it makes the potential for searching out his other work high on the priority list.

    3 come to mind:

    Three the Hard Way
    Black Belt Jones
    Black Samurai

    Rest in Peace, Jim Kelly.

I remember Black Belt Jones , and also hearing about Three the Hard Way but I never did see that one.
And a 70s magazine article about him called "A Trophy Can't Put Gas In My Car." There was no money in tournament Karate.

His role in Enter the Dragon sticks in your mind. It was memorable.
I can remember his lines right off the top of my head:
"Man, you come right out of a comic book."
    "Bull$#!t, Mr. Han-man!"
    "Been practicin', huh?"
    "For me?" (*smiles.)
    "A human fly."
"I won't waste my time with it. When it comes, I won't even notice. I'll be too busy lookin' good."
