Herbie Hide will top the bill in the next Prizefighter tournament.
The former world heavyweight champion will be the star attraction at the York Hall on April 30th, as the Cruiserweights II tournament comes to Sky Sports HD.
Hide, who in his time has been in with the likes of Vitali Klitschko, Riddick Bowe and Tony Tucker, is the biggest name in the eight-man line-up who will be scrapping it out for the small matter of £32,000.
Other contenders include former Commonwealth champion Darren Corbett, Mark Krence, who has fought for the British heavyweight title, and hard-hitting veteran John Anthony.
As always, there will be a number of highly-rated prospects looking to have a career-changing night by winning Prizefighter.
Jon-Lewis Dickinson is undefeated in his five fights, while Wayne Brooks, Zahid Kahut and Leon Williams are hoping to catapult themselves into big-time boxing.
It is the successful blend of big names, former champions and up-and-coming prospects and with Hide in the mix, anything could happen on the night.
"Boxing in the UK is buzzing right now and we are delighted to announce the next instalment of the Prizefighter Series with the Cruiserweights on April 30th," said Eddie Hearn managing director of Matchroom Sport.
"Seven of the leading UK contenders will be trying to capture the crown but to do so they will have to take out the number-three WBC contender and favourite to win Prizefighter Herbie Hide."
I think this is sad that a all-time British GREAT has to do this because no one in the top 10 wants any part of this wrecking machine. It wasn't long ago Hide was going to fight in a elimator against Matt Godfrey and now he could loss all against a silly 3 round event.....SAD!!!
Job Biscuit (SHAME on the SPORT of BOXING)!!!
