So you are saying Loma is better than SRL, better than Duran, better than Hearns? Even though he hasn’t fought the best fighter in any division.

I mean, why ever challenge yourself, apparently fighting greats like SRL did gets you moved down.

Boxing fandom is so fricken broken. I mean, at no point will Loma be as good as prime Roy, at no point will Loma have beaten greats like SRL did. But f those things, 13-1 and he’s the greatest. F me!
X has put "So, who do you think is the best fighter alive right now (September 2019)?"

Loma is the best fighter alive today.

The rest have gone at a tangent because the thread is so open interpretation.

Untense, relax and stop taking life so seriously.

The thread title probably threw some for a loop. Obviously you meant greatest fighter alive today, who's STILL fighting. If that's the case, I guess Loma is as good a guess as any.

But if we're to include former fighters who are still alive today.... I'm pretty sure you'd put at least SRL and Duran way ahead of Loma. Loma has a ways to go before reaching those heights.

@x you better clarify and stop starting ambiguous threads which get Ron all heated up and angry.

I meant it to include retired former fighters of any age, who are still alive. I.e. Comparing generations

If it was only active boxers, then it just becomes simply s P4P argument.

Personally, I would possibly go for Manos de Piedra.

He is remembered for his exploits in the 1980's, but he was slightly past his prime then and fighting guys bigger than him. He was easily the best fighter on the planet in the 1970's

Then you should have entitled the thread greatest fighter alive today.

I would say Tommy Hearns, he beat Leonard at Super middleweight and was a better p4p fighter. He smashed Duran too.

What you say about that Ronnie?

Hearns.... Hagler.... Leonard.... Duran. All light-years more accomplished than Loma at this point in time.

..... and all still alive today.
