Default My 5 dollar 1,000 watch

So I stopped by this little junk store and found a vintage 14 kt tissot with a missing crown the dude was selling for five bucks. Don’t know much about tissot but I liked the look. Needs a crown and a service. I’ll probably work on it this weekend. Reached out to a couple collectors who know tissot better than me. Got a 500 dollar offer as it stands once running and cleaned up it’s a rarer model and is worth about 1,000. Tbh value didn’t cross my mind. I just liked the looks of it. So I have a good protect this weekend.

Good work and if you can sell it that will be a healthy profit doing your hobby.

Well master I’m going to need to sink some money into it. Needs some parts I can’t do myself. Plus I mentioned it’s missing the crown. I’d say there is a 1.3% chance I’d find the original one. So although when 100% original it may hit that 1,000 mark I don’t think it’s realistic I’d get that. Plus it’s hard to sell things like this as you know you will never run across another at 5 bucks again but tbh I probably should sell it. I’m more of a collector than a flipper but you don’t want things to get out of hand and it’s always good to raise money for the next one. I’ll probably sell it to one of my friend collectors at a very fair price, like half its value. When you do things like that people remember and will do the same in turn, keeps the good will flowing, I find when you make it all about the money it kind of kills the enjoyment a bit.
