Default Kubrat Pulev v Dillian Whyte purse bid delayed, agreement imminent?

The IBF heavyweight eliminator purse bid between Kubrat Pulev and Dillian Whyte has been delayed until March 24 as both sides attempt to seal an agreement.

Pulev v Whyte was called to a deadline on Thursday at 7pm UK time, although a further seven days were requested - leading some to believe a deal could be close.
The International Boxing Federation confirmed the news to WBN just hours before the scheduled cut off point.
A battle with Whyte is the consolation prize afforded to Pulev after the Bulgarian was forced to pull out of a world title challenge against Anthony Joshua last October.
Joshua was forced to draft in late replacement Carlos Takam due to Pulev's late withdrawal and as a result, has moved on from the veteran to a potential undisputed unification with Deontay Wilder.
For Whyte, the subject is a touchy one as the Londoner missed out on being named mandatory for Wilder despite claiming the number spot in the heavyweight ratings with the WBC.
Instead, Dominic Breazeale was afforded the honor of facing Wilder should negotiations with Joshua collapse in the near future.
The winner of Pulev v Whyte, which could take place in London this summer, will then join the queue alongside Alexander Povetkin and Breazeale for the opportunity of fighting for all the top division marbles.
As Joshua and Wilder looked to fully unify the 200 pound plus weight class, the situation behind them continues to become more and more complex.

I thought Whyte would fight Povetkin, now it is Pulev?

Whyte got shafted by the wbc if he was the mandatory for Wilder.

    Boxing politics.

This is a decent fight tbf. I wouldn’t want to pick a winner, but whoever wins deserves a title shot.

No whyte said he wanted to fight povetkin, probably under orders from Hearn to clear a path for joshua v wilder, there is no good reason(from povetkins point of view) to take on whyte, considering how many rubles the Russians can pay him, when he can just wait for bigger rubles v joshua... Whyte was never technically mandatory to face wilder just ranked number one by the wbc, the wbc certainly played some silly games there by claiming brezeale was the mandatory for a while and they just didn't tell anyone... The governing bodies are usually pretty consistent with their nonsense that their number one ranked guy isn't the mandatory, leapai for example fought boytsov for the wbo number one ranking but that didn't make him mandatory, klitschko had to ask them to make him mandatory. It's all bollocks.

Pulev's like 37 and very inactive. I don't think his hearts been in it since Wlad banged him out. Whyte can win this.

    I agree with @palmerq 100% here.
The way Whyte has been treated is a fucking disgrace and the governing bodies just make it up as they go along.
Dillian Whyte is the peoples fighter and one crazy motherfucker but a funny guy too, check out the recent social media messages he sent Derek Chisora
