The Guv'nor

Bit of a follow on from a thread on the main board. Ive just finished reading The Guv'nor and wanted to know what others thought of it and of Lenny Mclean.

Just to kick off I enjoyed it greatly. Im sure plenty of it was laid on a bit thick and it did get a bit predictable reading how someone else was always to blame for the things that he chose to do.

Anyone?

yeh its a sweet read no doubt, but lenny was a right showman and some of the facts he mentions conflict with those of other gangland members, which is a bit of a shame so i jus read it for what it is and took it for the great read that it was.

we did have one, a grand idea but we never got past the first book. It's the last time I pick the bible for a book club choice.

I've read a few boxing books, Facing Ali, Falling hard, Unlicensed, the biggest fight...

Good stuff. Unlicensed has a bit about the Guv'nor in it... as you say he seems reluctant to take any responsibility for anything.
