It's a Canadian trait, luckily we got our hands on Lennox early enough where it could be instilled in him. Otherwise Lennox would have been another Audley Harrison (likely without the gold medal, though), or maybe another David Haye complaining about his toe hurting after a loss.

All England gave him was a silly accent. He learned to fight in Canada, and got his genetics from Jamaica.
Thank You, Canada for doing the ground work. Thankfully, the GB took him back to his rightful home and spared him being turned into Canada's other HW successes of that period - Willie DeWitt and Tom Glesby.

Ask Lennox Lewis who his idol is & he will tell you Muhammad Ali
Ask Lennox if he thinks he could have beaten Ali. He'll laugh & say No Way
    Lennox idolizes him

I think in Lennox's case he is being a gentleman about it , but I will tell you this Larry Holmes thinks he could have beaten any version of clay prime for prime.

    Dark Al Lord,

I'd agree with the above statement. Larry Holmes 'never' loses to Cassius Clay.

And he 'stops' Muhammad Ali by TKO 10. In most likely, a one-sided ass whipping.

"What do you think about that Ms. Julie Newmar."

"I'd agree with that 100%. Or I'm not Cat Woman in my other life."

@ryanman @WelshDevilRob Saint Mary is a parish located in the northeast section of Jamaica. With a population of 115,000 it is one of Jamaica's smallest parishes, located in the county of Middlesex. Its chief town and capital is Port Maria, located on the coast. It is also the birthplace of established dancehall reggae artists, such as Capleton, Lady Saw, Ninja Man, Sizzla and Tanya Stephens. Other notable residents of St. Mary parish include bestselling author Colin Simpson, who is the great-great grandson of noted slavery abolitionist James Phillippo, boxer Trevor Berbick, and acclaimed music producer Chris Blackwell who is credited with "discovering" Bob Marley.

Now this fight I can agree with, Lennox had height, power, he was very athletic in the ring, he could take a good shot, he was adept at tying up and sapping the strength and will of his opponents. I don't see Ali getting stopped early, but perhaps championship rounds....Lennox might give away some of the early rounds because he WAS slow to start at times, but once the right cross found it's mark it wouldn't have been long.

If you had a good/great jab, then you nullified Ali's movement and handspeed.

Yeah all that false modesty shit has to be taken for what it is. Nobody is going to come out and say they would beat Ali because people will hate you for slagging a guy as beloved as Ali.

A 6'5'', 250lb guy with the skill, power, speed and boxing IQ of Lennox is going to be hell for anyone who ever boxed.

Do I think a 200lb Cassius Clay whips Lennox? Not likely IMO.

Lennox time travels to 1970 and gets knocked out by Foreman.
