I think you just go to your local bookies and talk to the manager about it. They pop up on the news every now and again, and its always the shop manager giving quotes to the camera. If its something like son playing for england, or you living to 100 years old, they usually get a few requests for those I imagine.

I think Peter Crouch's dad put a bet on that when he was a kid, I think I remember seeing it on the box.

before World Cup 1998 I went in to put a bet on Jamaica making it through the group stages and they said they didn't do any bets like that ?? This was William Hill by the way.

So I also asked if I could put a double on England winning world cup and shearer winning the golden boot but they said I couldn't do that bet as it was technically the same thing ?? I protested saying but anyone on another team could score more or even another England player could score more. The manager came out to explain to me why it was technically the same bet then - anyway I couldn't put it on.

HOWEVER and I am serious here - I could have put a bet on Elvis being found alive and well living in the UK.

Seriously bro...your bookies suck. Surely they would have displayed the odds for england winning the world cup (maybe 50/1) and Shearer getting golden boot (10/1) and all you'd have had to do is write them on your betting slip as a double. That manager was ridiculous and bang out of order. For the 2002 world cup i lost out on an accumulator of teams to make it through the group stages, after France crashed and burned (and yes, I'm still bitter).

Just ring Will Hill, they are the best for novelty bets, some people have made some big money over the years:

A bloke who saw Mark Williams playing snooker at about 10 years old in his local Snooker Club, put £100 on him at 300/1 to win the Snooker World Champs before and including the year 2000, lucky bastard he won it in the year 2000, 30 grand richer!!!
