I'm sure his issues would have already been well known before they've been made public. The last thing you want to do in Broner's line of work is admit this kind of thing because what promoter is going to want to set up a fight and spend money on it and then you flake out and fuck the whole promotion up? It'll have ben an open secret with Haymon and others that he had problems but now they're enough for him to pull out of fights it puts Broner in a tough position.

It would be great if he is growing up but I don't see things going well for him outside the ring in the future. If we do see him inside the ring again it'll be an undercard fight I'm sure. He'll struggle to make top of the bill again after this. It's not like his career was on the up before this, is it.

Most likely get backlash here. So I'll preface with saying that I am a single father with 5 kids.
2 of my older daughters had some pretty severe issues in this area. One after having some very bad things happen to her that I won't get into.
I didn't completely understand all of it at the time but have come to reach a point of complete empathy.

But do you think it is a coincidence that Broners outing of his mental health has nothing to do with the positive feedback and praise that the media has given Danny Garcia most recently on his statements? Rightfully so, don't get me wrong. And past with Ryan and Tyson?

If I am right, he is insulting anyone going through legit struggles. If I am wrong I owe some people an apology. And God Bless anyone struggling.

Just timing seemed odd to me. But like I said, I may be totally wrong here.

"Adrien Broner Pulls Out Of Omar Figueroa Jr Fight Due To Mental Health Problems"

At the risk of incurring the wrath of the PC police, I gotta raise not one eyebrow... but a whole set of eyebrows to this.

There has to be at least a million one-liners that come to mind right now, but of course I don't want to seem "insensitive."

All I gotta say is, Adrien Broner... "mental health issues." I'll just let that marinate for a bit.

Are you f*cking kidding me?? REAL mental health issues is a real and serious issue, one that many people have to deal with. But at the same time it lends itself to claim abuse by any Joe, Dick and Harry who wants an easy bail on something. Of course, as soon as someone claims "mental health issues", no one will touch that with a 20-foot pole, lest they be accused of being insensitive to the poor soul. It's almost like the "Me Too" trend, where now even someone like George Foreman is being accused of sexual harassment for something that allegedly occurred sometime in the last millennium.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Broner doesn't have any mental health issues, other than those he's always had... which admittedly are quite many. IMO, he's just a buffoon who has overstayed his welcome in boxing way too long and needs to go back and reestablish himself somewhere else in life.

he looked in good shape before his fight last month was called off but was apparently struggling with the bottle, he was said to be drinking every morning once waking

I can confirm he does down a bit of cognac especially Hennessy in the mornings after his run. He is looking old but remember old people can get in pretty good shape like Ali got when he fought holmes, but the shape doesn't mean anything.

Little Adrian is spent. He is shot. Even in his prime he barely even was worthy of discussion. Imagine now

And the problem is , with the booze, you can make weight, but not properly and it takes its toll.
Kovalev and obviously Hatton spring to mind. It gets you eventually.

it may have been a factor over the last several years. the last time i think adrien looked good against a decent opponent was maybe antonio demarco

Best thing to come from this whole "BLK Prime" debacle and obvious BS is Broner getting his head untucked and putting in the work. Can't put a price on that. Man is up there looking like a greyed Denzel . But King is smelling that last opportunistic gasp.
