Default Best example of good referreeing you have seen

I saw Danny Macintosh fight Matthew Barney a few years back and Barney was holding like ward or alexander does

the fight lasted a couple of rounds and richie davies warned barney a couple of times then stopped it, dq'ed him

if there were more refs like richie around boxing would be a better place

Mills Lane refereeing Tyson vs Holyfield II. The little guy that didn't take any backchat from anyone. When Tyson tried to tell Lane he did not bite Holyfield, the first word Lane said was "bullshit!".

Mills should have allowed that fight to continue and let it take its natural course.

I'm a little conflicted about that, my opinion is that Tyson would have had an unfair advantage from sucking up Holyfield's blood during the clinches. That would have been cheating, your supposed to hydrate between rounds!

The ref who worked the Brandon Rios vs. Anthony Peterson fight did a great job I felt. After it was clear Peterson was intentionally hitting Rios low to get out of the fight, the ref simply said "Thats it. You're done" and DQ'd his punk ass.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Don't really have favs but we all have ones that make us 'comfy' when ya see them. Like a Smoger, Weeks, Bayliss...I liked Moret and Halpren. Mills was a solid professional and the only one I can think of often referred to by first name.

As cliché as it is, the one I forget and don't notice is always the best. Just do the job on equal footing and respect.

The name of Arthur Mercante Sr. was synonymous with big boxing events back in the day.
