ok, so , ummmm, let's just kill those who dont have technology? yyyyyyeah, O-O-OK, I.......THINK......I get where youre comin from......
You will NEVER get where I'm coming from Brockton and that comment is proof.
You and miles can opine about the plight of the Indian all you like, but feeling sorry for them isn't doing them much good is it? In fact, that's a bit condescending......I know, I know, miles will be SHOCKED about that.
Diseases decimated the Indians prior to any colonization of the Americas because explorers brought diseases with them and died, and they caught diseases from the Indians and some of the explorers died, but some survived and some of the Indians may even have taught the explorers how to cure their infirmed which utilizing lower technology was perhaps easier to replicate than the cures for the diseases the explorers brought with them.....and so Social Darwinism, those who were best equipped to handle those situations succeeded and those who weren't failed.
The Indians didn't have domesticated beasts of burden, ergo, no use for the wheel. The white man did, and therefore it was easier to move, being the more mobile and better equipped to handle the stresses and strains of the Americas the white man won out.
And Indians were not a monolithic group, they became one eventually when it was way too late, but at first they fought and naturally you see some white dudes come with fucking horses and guns and you make REAL good friends with them so you can destroy your enemies.....and disease comes and your tribe gets ruined.....kind of difficult to say "Damn that white man!".
Indians were killing Indians, taking land, taking hunting grounds, capturing slaves, etc all well before the "white devil" set foot on American soil....the phrase "Don't hate the playa hate the game" comes to mind and shit, white people aren't even the best at this game, the Mongolians were! but you don't give Genghis Khan shit for murdering and enslaving who he did do you? And that's not a rhetorical question, I want it answered.
Lyle....
I guess you have convinced me of the need for regime change everywhere. You have better technology, factions squabbled anyway, so you might as well just wipe 'em out. That diseased thinking has continued for 500 years.
Miles, Brock has turned evil. He is trying to radicalize you. He came to the us as he knew he would be going on the no fly list soon. I urge you turn away from him and join me and @El Kabong in the flight

I had a 20-pound turkey for Thanksgiving...... and watched a 245-pound turkey get beat two nights later.
Nearing the 'mount o' casserole dump' with the leftovers. Sometimes that's the best. At the end you just pile a plate and make sure no one is watching
Disease weakened the Indian tribes well before any Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock. So, instead of fighting off the Pilgrims, some tribes, weakened by disease, allied themselves with the Pilgrims. Now, tough shit for them, because of the diseases the Pilgrims carried further hurt the tribes allied with the white devils. When other tribes attacked, as Indian tribes were wont to do (whether you fucking like it or not) those tribes caught beat downs because they didn't have guns, the white devils did.
Now miles, I find your view of history to be naïve and condescending especially to Indians. Sure they did not have the technological advances the settlers had, but you act as though the Indians were docile imbeciles who had no sense of self preservation. It's very offensive intellectually because self preservation, just a simple survival instinct is the most basic trait in any life form and your view is that those groups of humans just didn't have that at all and this is why they were just mowed down like blades of grass by the horrible awful cause of everything evil ever in the history of the world, the white devil.
Fucking pathetic miles. I expect that kind of excrement from Brockton, but not you.
"Let me explain something to you 'Tonto'. You've got 48-Hours to get out,
or we're going to take some Indian Ass."
"You here me there Chief."
It isn't pathetic. I have read books on this particular subject as it interests me and though illness played its role, the North American Indians had genocide carried out upon them by marauding invaders. The last book I read empahised the Spanish were much worse, but the chaps up North were doing their best to abuse and slaughter too. It was a shameful period in your history and you should be ashamed of yourself trying to use revisionism to justify it all.
