Lomachenko vs Walters Appears To Be Set

A great fight I'm sure a lot of boxing fans here are looking forward to. No date set though.

Without the venue, date or network resolved we should probably not celebrate yet.

That would be a huge fight, the future best stars against one another. That is a novelty.

Excellent fight. Might end up on Showtime. I think this takes place at 130. Walters trying to boil down is a bad idea.

I see this fight as an 116-112 win for Lomachenko. Entertaining, can´t wait!

I think he could still fight at 126. After he destroyed Donaire there was nothing left for him but the Russian and Arum was not interested. He's huge sure and could most likely fight at 135 but there was nobody left at feather to motivate him to burn it off. He didn't even try to make weight for Marriaga and when he weighed in a pound heavy Roy said he walked around the block once. Perhaps you are right though or they do some catch thing. Maybe the Russian is getting a little tired of struggling also. He's pretty big himself.

This is a real testing time for Walters. It's also a time where Loma kinda/sorta through the back door avenges his loss to Salido- one which he was kinda robbed.

I am biased towards Walters, but have a feeling it will be a Loma white-wash kinda fight!

I think it would be actually a testing time for both, though Walters looks bigger so he'd have (I think) an advantage at a higher weight. It depends on what weight they do it at.

Can't decide really* so that for me means a promising fight, coupled with the fact that both are top notch.

*Nah, Lomachenko for sure; he's a skilled leftie with wicked footwork.

BTW, according to Boxrec, Walters has about an 8-inch reach advantage!

Be terrific if it gets made.

Loma either stands him on his head or has his head blasted off. Excellent fight.

I remember Walters claiming that the 8 months inactivity leading up to the Donaire fight had contributed to him missing weight. That was October 2014. Since then he fought the Sosa fight at 130. I'm not sure how comfortable he will be losing those extra pounds and what condition he would enter the ring in.

Either way lets hope they can get this done.

Lomachenko is not unhittable but I'm not sure Walters has enough power to spark him at 130 or above. Lomachenko on points.

Fingers crossed, it should have happened a while ago but I'll take it now gladly.

Considering Stalin took Ukraines food and starved 14 million Ukrainians to death, and Russia also starved millions of Ukrainians in the 20s by taking their food. And Russians killed millions of Ukrainian civilians in WWII along with Germany from the other side. And considering Russia keeps ending their ongoing war every time Ukraine gives up a piece of their country then again breaks the truce for more Ukrainian deaths. I would suspect that the Ukrainian Lomachenko would not like to be called Russian. Just saying, friend))
