Default Being ripped off by online purchase from USA - Advice needed

Chaps, I have bought two bottles of Aftershave from the USA for a total price of £136.00. The £136.00 includes £20.00 I pad for express delivery to the UK. When the products have arrived, only one item worth £58.00 has been delivered. They have refunded £58.00 to my Account. What this means is I have now paid £80.00 for 1 item, because I have still paid the set UK delivery charge of £20.00, but now not spread across 2 items. At no stage was I contacted and asked if I still wanted the 1 item, If I had've been I would've said "No"

On top of this I had to pay £11.45 V.A.T when DHL delivered the parcel. so I said fuck off basically take it back. What this means is that inc V.A.T I am now expected to pay £89.00 for 1 bottle of aftershave that's actual cost is £58.00.

    Two questions

1.)Iis it right that I should pay the V.A.T, when nowhere or at no time was I told that this would be the case

2.) Do I have grounds for a full refund and for them to collect the 1 x item, whcih I definitely don't want to pay £89.00 for

    Advice appreciated

If it's over about £20 and customs spot it there will be a charge, now I don't object to paying the VAT it's the Royal Mail 'fee' they add on my behalf because they paid the VAT for me - despite the fact I was never given the option to pay up....anyway - Q1 yes, if they spot it you will have to pay.

As for 2 - You won't be entitled to anything because the postage was a flat fee - unless they have a really good customer service and they ship your second bottle for free.

If you play up the fact that you weren't contacted - you may get something

I would be over the god damn moon to say that I'd f****d Britney Spears.... Hell yes..... She could moan, scream and whine in tune too. There's no-one better to rinse in a school girl outfit either. It'd be like, "oh, go ooonn, just put the school uniform on one more time..... Haha.... "and the pigs tails, don't forget now"...... Ha

anyways if you paid via paypal just charge it back explaining to paypal what happened.... don;t lie as the other party can produce tracking details of the delivery.

if you paid via credit card ask them to get it back for you explaining what happened only after you have tried getting the dosh your out of pocket from the company.
