who do you think will be the top p4p fighter in the world in 5 years?
Mayorga wins sometimes in big fights though. Vargas doesn't.Originally Posted by B@rr3r@
Yeah I wonder about people who bag Fernando Vargas... I wonder if you guys are fans are of people like Bernard Hopkins or Jermain Taylor. Those 2 nancy boys fought scared flat out shitless for 24 ROUNDS!!!!!!! Seriously those 2 fights have got to be among the dullest I've ever seen and have seriously put me off so-called big time boxing...
Vargas comes to fight every time out, end of story. I don't particularly care what the history books say - I'm always going to remember Vargas more fondly than I do somenody like B-Hop. I'll always think of Tommy Hearns more fondly than SRL, and I'll always think of Enander Holyfield more fondly than Lennox Lewis.
I like guys who come to FIGHT, not pose.

His skill, whenever he decided to use it, looked like an all-time-great, when he was fighting Tito!Originally Posted by "PRIDE OF PROVIDENCE"
I can agree with Tommy more than Sugar Ray and Evander more than Lewis. I agree totally. However, Bernard Hopkins came to fight every time. Plus, he "proves" his points. Fernando Vargas just has a big mouth.Originally Posted by Greig
Ok, you are right, Bernard did come to fight every time and I do respect him...
Just not the last 2 fights.

Vargas was an outstanding fighter. But it was obvious from the beginning that he never had that mark of greatness that other fighters have.
He was a good fighter and a brave one who still gives his all. The Quartey fight was his high point. He actually outboxed Quartey. After that he seems to have forgotten about boxing and got too wrapped up in the machismo.
hey man, the decision wasn't that bad!Originally Posted by SecondRoundKO

just watch the first round of vargas against tito and that says it ALL!!!!
Vargas fights well sometimes early. The problem is that he then usually gets tired later against good opponents and sits down on his little fat butt.
