    Default Floyd A Free Agent

    Report: Floyd a free agent!
IBF welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather has rejected an August 12 fight with Antonio Margarito and bought out his contract with Top Rank. Arum told ESPN that Mayweather paid Top Rank $750,000 to become a free agent. Top Rank will now use the August 12 date for the mandatory WBC title fight between Hasim Rahman and Oleg Maskaev with Antonio Margarito on the undercard. Floyd is eying a possible showdown with Oscar De La Hoya.

You think there is any chance he signs with Goldenboy?

The money fight for Floyd is a fight with DLH. It's the biggest earner out there for him. And he's probably going to wait until Hatton is a little more shopworn before he fights him, so he'll be hoping Mayorga doesn't land a big punch on him and he can get it on with Oscar. It's got to have crossed Oscar's mind that Floyd is worth promoting.

If Floyd wants the MONEY DEAL, he hooks up with ODH. If not than he'll lose out on MILLIONS. So would ODH. That's probably the only way that fight happens. Floyd will have to sign with Golden Boy Productions...

    You know...
... the craziest thing is. He's praying that Oscar will win this fight. haha

Long lay-off, aging, Oscar should be able to beat wild Mayorga, who's also damaged goods after Trinidad beating (I hate to say that.).

PLEASE OSCAR LOSE!!! So Mayweather will be forced to fight Hatton or Margarito!!!

***first time I'm rooting against Oscar!

    thats a pretty sound logic

i think oscar beats mayorga but there's nothing wrong with a little hoping that wild man mayorga can pull an upset...anything to get PBF in with hatton or margarito....i wanna see PBF: hatton more than PBF anyone else though....

Oscar is flatfooted now and hasn't look 75 percent what he was when he fought Vargas. All DLH seems to rely on is shoe shine combinations and then he's out, and he just throws them at your shoulders so when you move they can hit you. He did it against Mosley and against Sturm and against Hopkins and it is something he cannot afford to do against Mayorga. I hate to say it but I think Oscar's legs are a little shot. And we still don't know what the Sturm and Hopkins fights took out of him, but I tell you one thing, he walked into that Sturm fight as an "is" and walked out as a "was" to quote bert Sugar.
