    Default round kick types

when i first started to train i would round kick with a whipping technique. more like snapping someone with a towel or whip than hitting them with a baseball bat. i have a muay thai technique book and it says that the leg is extended the whole way there (more like a bat).
now i usually use a stiff leg when i go high and the whipping one when i go to the legs
but i was wondering what technique you guys prefer.

depends what for and how much room you have to kick, round kicks are useful if you have little time to set up the weightier thai kick or less room to kick. But you are sacrifising the mt power for the speed of round kick IMO.

True, but kicks tend to have a lot of power regardless....your leg is a pretty heavy club to swing, and even without too much power behind it, the speed alone can be enough to hopefully at least rock your opponent.
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?

I wouldn't extend my leg all the way unless it were a finishing move.
