Can a amature boxer have braces and still fight, and if yes what about a pro?

ud need to be real carefull if ur mouthpiece fell out, those shits would TEAR your lips up i would imagine, im not sure its good for the braces either
Dont know what the official rulling on it is.. but perhaps the fighter could be fitted with lingual braces (braces attached to the inside of the tooth)
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I don't know any coach who would put you in...
I used to have a brace... forget the metal making you unable to wear a mouth peice for a second... if you've had one you'll know the amount of tension they place over your teeth... it'd snap when it got it... it'd be like holding paper in 1 hand and hitting it... what happens? it moves and absorbs the blow... what happens if you pull the paper at both ends? it goes tight and breaks when hit.
Not to mention the danger of chocking and cracking/chipping your teeth.
You can't fight with one... the doctor checks your mouth peice and gum guard at the weigh in and the ref does when you get into the ring. your not aloud to fight with one and you wouldn't make it past the doctor AND the ref. I doubt you'd even be given a card to start off with.
All you could really do is switch to a special retainer if possible, that way you could take it out to box.. Or possibly wear headgear at night... That'd be fun
