    Default Saddoboxing.com Prediction Contest #3

    Saddoboxing.com presents…

    The Prediction Contest #3

Myself and Saddo have agreed the new rules for the Third Saddoboxing.com Prediction Contest.

I will be running the Prediction Contest this time, and like I have been doing in this current Prediction Contest, I will do a weekly total as well as doing a running total.

Prizes have not yet been decided, but they will run along the lines of a Boxing Monthly/The Ring subscription, or Hatton goodies...

Below are the rules to the new contest, which will start at the beginning of July 2006 and end on December 17th 2006.

Feel free to IM me or leave your comments about the rules on this thread. I am open to any suggestions that you have.

    The Rules

    Scoring

Unlike previous contests there will be no negative numbers given; if your fighter loses you will just score nothing.

    Picking points decisions

If you pick a fighter to win on points and they do, you will score 6 points.

If you pick a fighter to win by Unanimous decision and they do, you will score 7 points.

If you pick a fighter to win by Majority decision and they do, you will score 12 points.

If you pick a fighter to win by Split decision and they do, you will score 12 points.

If your fighter wins by any other means other than the one you stated, you would receive 2 points.

Note; to win a points decision the fight must go the distance. A technical points decision, for a fight stopped before the completion of the allotted distance of the fight, will be scored differently.

    Picking a KO/TKO

Unlike previous contest’s there will be no difference between a KO or TKO, you will be awarded the same amount of points for either eventuality, if that is your pick.

Note for the purposes of the Prediction contest, a retirement win is considered a TKO.

If you pick a fighter to win by KO/TKO and they win by such eventuality, you will receive 6 points.

If you pick a fighter to win by KO/TKO and a specific round and they win by KO/TKO in that round, you will receive 25 points. If the fighter you picked to win, wins by a KO/TKO in any other round other than one you picked, you will receive 4 points

If your fighter wins by any other means other than the one you stated, you would receive 2 points.

    Picking a Draw

If you pick a fight to end in a draw, technical or otherwise, you will receive 20 points

    Technical decisions

If you pick a fighter to win by technical decision and they do, you will receive 25 points no matter what round the technical decision happens in.

If your fighter wins by any other means, other than the one you stated, you would receive 2 points.

    Disqualifications

If you pick your fighter to win by disqualification and they do you will receive 20 points, no matter what round the disqualification happens in.

If a fighter is disqualified within 24 hours of the completion of the fight, then that will be the result and you will receive 20 points, if you picked a disqualification win.

If a fighter were disqualified after 24 hours of the completion of the fight, for the purposes of the Prediction Contest, the original result would still stand.

If your fighter wins by any other means, other than the one you stated, you would receive 2 points.

Note; a Double Disqualification, would for the purposes of the Prediction Contest, be considered a No Contest.

    No Contests/No Decisions

If a fight is made a No Contest/No Decision during the fight, or 24 hours there after the completion of the fight, the fight will be declared void for the purposes of the Prediction Contest and no points awarded for that fight.

If the fight is declared a No Contest/No Decision after 24 hours of the completion of the fight, for the purposes of the Prediction Contest, the original result will still stand.

    Other ways to score points

If you just type down the name of the fighter who you think will win a particular fight without a prediction as to how they will win, you will receive 3 points if they do indeed win by any means.

    Star Fight

Every week I (Britkid) will have a Star Fight, that I will signify when I list the fights for the week. That Star Fight will double any points you make on it.

    Playing your Joker

On top of this, each week you are entitled to pick any other fight that has been listed as part of the Prediction Contest that week, to be your personal joker. And like the Star Fight you will receive double any points you make on that fight.

You must clearly show this is your Joker fight though.

    Small Print

If a fighter ends up fighting a change of opponent other than the one I (Britkid) have listed; you will score one point (two points if it is a Joker/Star fight), if you have a particular fighter winning (by any means); nothing if you do not.

Note all fighters you list for a win must be on the original list I (Britkid) posted for the Prediction Contest that week. In other words, you cannot pick the change of opponent to win.

Myself (Britkid) and Saddo are entitled to change any rule in regards to this contest, providing we give at least 72 hours notice of any change, and opportunity for people to pass comment.

My (Britkid’s) and Saddo’s decisions are final in interpreting all rules to the above contest.

If you wish to comment on any decision I have made, you may IM me or contact me via email at simonh230774@yahoo.co.uk.

LOL, well you could not have the organizer of the Prediction Contest finishing in the top two, it would not look right.

By changing the rules I have completely buggered up my chances of winning, because I am awful picking round wins.... Fenster walks it IMO.

    Excellent changes (hopefully )

Shadows rules were fine but the KO/TKO scoring differently was too harsh, plus there was no value in picking the "draw" option (I was dying to on the Winky Taylor fight, true ) because you LOST 3 points for being wrong even though we all know its infintely harder to call a draw correctly

The Star fight and especially the Joker fight seems a great idea.

    3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.

Sounds like fun. I decided not to enter the last one as I didn't want to cause offense by winning so convincingly after having only just joined the site, but I think I've been around long enough to step up and win this competition on my first attempt.

Bilbo therefore tosses his hat into the ring!
