    Default OMFG!!! TONY THE TIGER!!!!

I was wondering about this fight and I guess my wonders were correct....

Thompson could not have fought a better fight tonight....Guinn, well, there are the club cards out there...

I just did not see it in Guinn like he used to be...

Good job Tony "The Tiger" Thompson...

The first 6 rounds were crap. The last 6 were pretty good for Thompson. Still, I can't see him beating anyone in the Top 10.

He is a local fighter (in my neck of the woods) so I applaude him.

Tony did what he was supposed to do.... keep a tiny bit of range some of the time with the jab and hook, then do work on the inside like he's used to...he's slow but Guinn isn't a giant killer so he (tony) did a good job....he isn't going to dent the top ten heavyweights, maybe top 20 or 15 within one year from now...but a player...NO

The Shannon Briggs formula. Might work, since some fools out there actually think Briggs is good.

True, he was only really good in the Foreman fight But had to have the judges help (I scored it 8-4 Foreman and got truly wasted after the decision).

Guinn is an aborration to the sport. He has so much talent and potential but he's lazy and apparently doesn't want to listen to his trainers.

...he's lazy and STUPID...who the fuck circles TO the straight left hand of a southpaw? Not only do you potentially get nailed with the left cross all night you take away your own left hook!!!

Why do people have so much trouble with southpaws

Reading from the posts, most people don't seem to be over impressed with Thompson's performance in beating Guinn, even though he was formerly touted as a true contender for th HW title.

My view is what this result actually says about Britain's own Audley Harrison, the man that most British fans have already disowned as overhyped and lacking in the grit and heart needed to win the big fights. Does anyone know where videos of American fights like this are available online, as then I could give much more informed opinions?

For Guinn to lose to Thompson, really shows that his previous fight, and 'the start of his comeback' against Harrison as just a false revival, and the Harrison can have no hope whatsoever of any sort of international ambitions. He can beat the guys who do fear him and don't come forward, but the amount of those boxers are getting less and less, and I have no doubt that he will now drift into obscurity. Sadly, I fear Guinn is facing that same path, somewhere beyond the sea.

I am not saying thatThompson is the next Champ, but to dismantle Guinn the way he did was impressive...

I think Thompson's corner combo will work well for his future...

I also noticed that he listens extremely well to his corner, thats what I like about good fighters and I think he will go far with them...

Also, that was his 24th straight win, not to bad for a club fighter eh...??
