Instead they just sniff each other's bums and lick their balls..........

I didn't say that my dog could sense ghosts. Although I would pleased if he could. I was saying that he panics over the slightest change in his enviroment. A habit he may have picked up from me, of course.

Dogs can hear things humans can't--fact. Dogs see in black and white, so they say. Not sure how they test such things.

I guess I'm implying that there is a chance they can see and hear things we fail to detect.
Yes absolutely I can accept that argument but I still don't see why a dog or indeed any animal sensing something that we cannot means that what it is sensing is supernatural in origin.

I do believe totally in the words of Shakespeare however when he wrote 'There are more in things in heaven and earth Horatio than are dreamt of in your philosophy'..

I can absolutely entertain the possibility of supernatural beings, as I can accept the possibility of life beyond our galaxy or even outside of the universe, I just don't think that the likes of Taps on the Discovery channel or psychic ghosthunters are a reliable way to document such phenomena, in fact I think they are an embarrassment to real science.

I do admire them for their courage even if they are full of "it." I couldn't stump around those creepy locations with the lights off even if I were keen to the paranormal.

Most Haunted makes me ill as well. Still, I watch because it's the best ghost stuff that television has to offer these days.

Courage are you serious? They just go to normal locations with a massive entourage and switch the lights out. They all jump at the slightest thing and act in the most unprofessional ways imaginable. If they ever actually saw anything they would be out the door so fast they themselves would look like a ghostly blur on camera.

As I said in an earlier post I've visited Berry Pomeroy castle supposedly the most haunted location in England a dozen times or more, even shagging an ex girlfriend one night on the battlement rampart where the white lady is supposed to walk. F*** all happened and there is really nothing down there at all. Yet on the UK ghost hunters doc the pyschics went nuts saying they had to leave becuase they felt such an evil presence and the presenter of the show actually fainted

Guess the ghosts were on holiday every time I've been down there.

Incedently despite the fear and terror the wackos on the documentary had I don't think they actually saw or ducmented anything, a classic case of them being scared by their own minds.

As a kid I had to share a room with my little sister. I have always been the spider catcher etc so I was used to her waking me up in hysterics to get them.

I woke up to hear her crying one night, saw her wearing a big puffy dress like something from a few hundred years ago, standing in the middle of the room. I was sleepy asked her what she wanted, turned on the light and she wasn't there.

She was asleep. I don't know what I saw but it wasn't scary. I never saw it again and slept in that room for years.

It's called a dream. I once got thrown out of bed, (I was asleep) and shitting myself I ran into my kitchen and rang my brother cos I was scared. Anyway whilst I was on the phone to him I went back into my bedroom and my bed was vertical, as if someone was lifting one end above their head. I screamed and ran back into the kitchen.

My brother said I must be dreaming and so I went back into the room and it was normal again. I went to sleep and had to ring my brother the next day to make sure I didn't dream the whole thing. He confirmed I did indeed ring him in the night.

In the same flat the sliding hatch to the loft somehow slid open around 4 times the 3 years I was there.

No idea how it happened but I don't for a minute think it was ghosts, just like I don't for a second think my bed really lifted up or that something threw me out of bed.

In regards to the bed instance I put it down to a bad dream and being only half awake whilst on the phone to my brother.

The loft I don't know how it could open but I'm guessing it must somehow have been the wind

My point is I had two experiences that some people if they would have had them would swear they were supernatural.

I think we all witness strange stuff but some people see different explanations. I really doubt that anybody on this board has truly had a real ghost or ufo experience.

You could be right. I don't assume it's a ghost or anything just something that doesn't usually happen to me that was weird. I won't try to say I KNOW something like that for a fact -

For the same reason though I don't know why you are so sure of this:

Do you really believe that? I was brought up on a farm and have had many pets. As a child I had a horse which was 15 years older than me and you could tell because of the way she was extra careful not to hurt me while she wiped my older bros off on tree branches.

Dogs will often protect their owners out of what I think is affection. So why would these creatures which are often fairly intelligent and emotional not have souls. Where's the evidence for something like that in anything we see in everyday life?

I do think some people don't have souls. Sick child killers etc. People incapable of feeling guilt or compassion who get a thrill out of doing things which are incomprehensible to most people. I guess it depends on what you call a 'soul'.

I know what you are saying. I guess I just subscribe to the biblical belief that God made man in His own image.

Dogs dont have souls... hey bullshit, if theres a heaven and i go to it and i dont find my pets there then me and god are having words! See this is why we have religion, humans must believe that we are the most important species in the world and the universe. I find it hard to believe out of the whole universe, we are the only intelligent life forms around. Cmon we dont even know how many planets there are in the universe, we never will. If a star can provide as a sun for one planet like our own, then why not another. There are plenty of stars out there and who can prove that in some solar system out there, that its not providing favourable conditions for another life form. Cavemen claimed to of seen flying objects and drew them on walls, ancient sumarians (one of the most advanced ancient tribes) claimed to of seen flying objects. Hey even ive had some pretty freaky experiences. Like one night when i was COMPLETELY AWAKE, lying in bed i heard a weird noise which gradually got louder. All of a sudden my room was lit up, i had my blinds closed so shit all light should of been in my room but it was like day time. I looked out the window and could only see blinding light and weird sound...like something was hovering over my house. Naturally i freaked out, jumped out of bed, ran into the lounge room and waited for the sound to stop. Aint no reptile anal probing me....or any other species

Research into past life regressions and even future life progressions suggest it is a lot more complicated than that.

I heard some info on coast to coast am last night that was pretty interesting regarding ufo's area 51 and all that. They talked about how an antigravity device (cloned with permission from aliens ) was perfected in 1958 and that 90% of ufo sightings today are actually our government testing them. Apparently a friend of the guy that was one told him some things they found out about gravity and ufo's.

Supposedly they run on element 115 (which in itself is barely credible due to the fact that all the heavier radioactive elements have very short half-lifes but then again he may have been refering to an isotope we haven't been able to isolate yet), there's two types of gravity (one at an atomic level and another one that works on a larger scale) and when a caller said something about religion and god, one of the additional guests asked the main one why didn't he give him a hard time. Later adding "Humans aren't as on top of the food chain as they'd like to believe".

There's been evidence to suggest that aliens landed here back when we were cavemen and kind of showed us how to become civilized (cave drawings dipict flying saucers). Apparently from a universal perspective, we are the dumbest of intelligent life out there. It could be speculated they we really weren't intended to advance passed the tribal level (indians and those still in tribes of isolated islands across the globe).

It's an interesting radio show. Some of the shows are a bit off but overall its pretty good. It's called coast to coast am and its on at 10pm-2am pacific time (maybe the times are off but thats the proximity of it).

Of course i give them some free advertizing and they repay me by having a show with hippies lobbying to make hallucenigenics legal.

Another reason there might be something to that pet's detecting ghosts thing: There have been a lot of "ghost noises" recorded that have been below human audible range. Animals have better hearing than humans so its very possible.

I don't think we really wanna know exactly how much life is out there besides us because it's probably very depressing. Comparing the scale of a person to this planet, this planet to the galaxy its in, the galaxy its in to the whole universe, thorw in the fact that some estimates have a 10 percent success rate of "liveable" planets out there and that theres several planets around every star and you really start to see things add up.
