Default What's next for Paul 'The punisher' Williams?

The kid really did put on a spectacular performance last time out against Shamba Mitchell but has there been any news about him since?, Is Magarito still in a safe house hiding from this kid? ..

I think Williams has everything in his arsenal to give the big guns some serious problems in the 147 division,

So who should he fight next?

Tony Margarito ducks no one at 147. After Clottey,if a Mosley or other big fight does not come off, then Margarito will most likely fight Williams in the first quarter of 06. Until then,he should keep busy!

This will be a defining fight in both these guys career. I actually don't think much of Margarito so I'd go with Williams.

In the mean time I wouldn't mind seeing Williams take on Kermit Cintron. Even Vivian Harris would be a decent in the mean time fight until someone else gets freed up............

When we get a 145lb division this may be so but as for now I think the 145lb division is a no go...Green is the best word I can think of to describe Williams...Mitchell though a tough Veteran has seen better days...Right now he is no more than a name on a piece of paper...Been a long time since he has had a worth performance.

To compare Margarito with Mitchell at this point in their careers is pointless...Just because he looked good against Mitchell guarentees nothing....If williams steps in with a top guy right now all he stands is a punchers chance...There is a lot to improve on...You could see that in the short time during the Mitchell fight...He has a future ahead of him no doubt but his time is not here yet

PS please dont ask what happened to that last post I have no clue lol

Yeah Williams would dominate 145, but I'm not sure he's ready to dominate at 147
One thing about Williams is he got caught by Sharmba really well in the 2nd round. If Sharmba was
10 years younger, he could have really capitalized on that. Williams is by no means, flawless.
However, if Mayweather moves up in weight and Williams keeps on this pace he could well unify at welter IMO
I've seen him take bombs from Mattysse (sp?) I seen him get caught flush and he just fires back.
What I want to see him do is fight a young super slick boxer with a great defense, I think Carlos Quintana
fits the bill, but he's tied up with Cotto. Williams v. Quintana would answer a lot of questions for me.
Even Williams vs. Judah would be interesting (I always like seeing Judah get schooled). But all in all
for now I think his best bet is Kermit Cintron, because he's gunnin for Margarito and that's the biggest name
    on Margarito's resume.

With the rumors of Magarito being scared of Williams due to their sparing past i think that's the route Williams should go in , Mentally he could have an advantage, I understand people's notion that Williams get's hit abit but maybe that's young naivety?, As he goes up the ladder i'd expect that not to be an issue, So who win's between Williams and Magarito?, What would Williams need to do to beat him?..

It's just talk to justify if Williams and Margarito fought. Williams is too green and doesn't know how to use his size(see how quickly Sharmba got inside on him)

Williams needs to get that defense right but honestly his offense is awesome.

    Williams-Collazo wouldn't be bad
    Williams-Hlatshwayo
    Williams-D. Hopkins
    Williams-Cintron

They would all be good...he just needs to become SEASONED

what williams needs to do to become seasoned is to start taking on C- level journeymen

margarito fits right into that role

Yes Starr i saw it but what if Williams stays on the outside against Magarito? , I think it was alot to do with Sharmba's little height and him rushing in that he managed to sneak inside, But he payed the price in the end, Williams was just as good on the inside and won several exchanges, Magarito is almost as tall as Williams but he ain't matching his reach, I'm positive that if the brotha gets the jab popping he could do a job on Anthony and maybe stop him in the latter rounds,

Come on girl you know it makes sense
